SamStranger Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 In 2003 The Right was united when the Aliiance, The Progressive Conservatives and the remains of the Reform party united to create the Conservative Party of Canada. That was a great time to be a conservative. Now... the NDP seems to have the EXSACT same ideals, morals, ethics, and policy as the Liberals. the NDP can deny it all they want, but every single one of their 1 million votes they got more this time around came from hard-core Liberals. If the two parties joined, they would unstopable. Quote "They say that lifes a carousel, spinning fast you got to ride it well. The world is full of Kings and Queens who blind your eyes then steal your dreams- it's heaven and hell. And they will tell you black is really white, the moon is just the sun at night, and when you walk in golden halls you get to keep the gold that falls- its heaven and hell" -Ronnie James Dio

Quote Almost three thousand people died needlessly and tragically at the World Trade Center on September 11; ten thousand Africans die needlessly and tragically every single day-and have died every single day since September 11-of AIDS, TB, and malaria. We need to keep September 11 in perspective, especially because the ten thousand daily deaths are preventable. - Jeffrey Sachs (from his book "The End of Poverty")
Black Dog Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 I can't see the NDP rank and file going for this either. The situation between the old PC/Reform and Liberals and NDP are totally different. In the former, Red Tories were the minority, whereas liberal Liberals ar eth eminority in their centrist, corporatist party. Quote
geoffrey Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 The Liberals are a pro-business party, the NDP is not. They can't function together. The Liberals are the big corporate donation receipients up until the new legislation, something most people just can't wrap their heads around. I have no problem economically with the Liberals most days besides that they never cut my taxes much. I have major issues with the NDP. They aren't the same deal. A non-corrupted, organized and driven Liberal government could have my support, I'd never vote for a socialist though. The Liberals would go belly up without their Bay Street and Montreal moola. They'd lose that all by even mentioning NDP merger. Martin is one of the richest Canadians, Chretien is a great rags to riches story. These aren't NDP type people, the NDP hates successful people and money. Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --
August1991 Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 Huh? Merger of the Left? Here's English Canada's attempt at "solidarity": Babble and enmasse. From Marx to Chomsky, the so-called Left has never understood how an individual's efforts fit within a collective effort. Quote
