Trump’s insane letter to Norway’s PM

Dear Jonas:

Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a “right of ownership” anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only a boat that landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also. I have done more for NATO than any person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT

Absolute insanity.  Has the orange spray-tan affected his brain?

Starting trade wars and threatening military action--tantrums--because he didn't win a participation trophy is the biggest exhibition of narcissism yet, and it seemed he'd be unlikely to top the Kennedy center fiasco and other absurd vanity projects.

It's also wildly beneath the dignity of that office. He is an utter clown and America is now the laughingstock of the world. Seriously, we're joke.

And even the MAGA cultists know it. Nobody, not even the densest of them, can read that and not recognize the wrongness. But they will defend it anyway, no doubt. They are already completely debased, without dignity left to lose, so they'll ride the train right off the cliff.

Here's what Anne Applebaum wrote about it -

One could observe many things about this document. One is the childish grammar, including the strange capitalizations (“Complete and Total Control”). Another is the loose grasp of history. Donald Trump did not end eight wars. Greenland has been Danish territory for centuries. Its residents are Danish citizens who vote in Danish elections. There are many “written documents” establishing Danish sovereignty in Greenland, including some signed by the United States. In his second term, Trump has done nothing for NATO—an organization that the U.S. created and theoretically leads, and that has only ever been used in defense of American interests. If the European members of NATO have begun spending more on their own defense (budgets to which the U.S. never contributed), that’s because of the threat they feel from Russia.

Yet what matters isn’t the specific phrases, but the overall message: Donald Trump now genuinely lives in a different reality, one in which neither grammar nor history nor the normal rules of human interaction now affect him. Also, he really is maniacally, unhealthily obsessive about the Nobel Prize. The Norwegian Nobel Committee, not the Norwegian government and certainly not the Danish government, determines the winner of that prize. Yet Trump now not only blames Norway for failing to give it to him, but is using it as a justification for an invasion of Greenland.

Against Greenland? You do know only Congress can declare war right? It’s not up to Trump.

Trump says what he mean, he doesn’t have to be right. But that’s more honesty out of a politician than you’re going to find.

Which cliff is that exactly. America has NEVER cared what the world thinks. Do you know why? It’s because we were never reliant on international trade. You have to care what America thinks though. We’re the only business in town.

You know full well that the president can take military action without a declaration of war from congress.

Not that Trump is even remotely concerned with lawlessness. Particularly now that he got his crooked SCOTUS to declare presidential action above the law. -- He literally invaded Venezuela just a couple of weeks ago.

No Greenland is not a grab and go is it. It requires an invasion, and sustained troop deployment to secure. Yes president are allowed limited strike for 90 days but that’s not what how you hold territory.

Invasion? Lol We already have the base there. We already militarily control Greenland. Capturing it is simply a declaration. The war starts when the rest of NATO has to invade to take it back.

It's not wise, or smart, or legal, but that has never stopped Trump, nor should you rely on reasonable restraint preventing this disaster.

Robo, not sure if you know this but Trump says the sky is blue.

Prove he said that. Of course like most things you post, ^this is not relevant to anything here.

There are now reports that a deal with Greenland is close.

If a deal is completed  soon that satisfies both the people of Greenland and the US, will any of you guys give Trump credit for it?

Beware the Brookfield industrial complex...

Tell that to Venezuela. I dont recall donald asking Congress's opinion on attacking them.

I long for the days when the only news about the President was blow jobs in the oval office.

Well, hes certainly honest about his lack of ethical and moral fortitude.

Hes also very honest about his disregard for our Constitution.  As a matter of fact, he's stated publicly that he's not even sure he needs to follow it, when it was just a year ago he took a solemn oath to abide by it.

Such an uneducated statement.

The United States population makes up approximately 4% of the Earth's population. The U.S. has 350 million people compared to the world's over 8 billion. Plus, China is the world's largest manufacturing country by a significant margin, producing roughly 28-31% of global manufacturing. So, though we are a big player on the World market, we definitely are not the only business in town.

His tactics are that of a grade school child.

I simply cannot ever give his adolescent bully methods props nor support.

His infantile, oppressive, tyrannical antics have taken World order back 80 years.

While some leaders are kissing donalds diapered ass, many NATO member states view Trump’s actions as a threat to the global order.

Wonder why.

Donald keeps pushing to acquire Greenland. Prime Minister Frederiksen has warned that a U.S. takeover of Greenland would mean the "end of NATO"

Donalds incessant threats to impose tariffs on allies over Greenland and his history of questioning Article 5 mutual defense commitments have created what experts call a "transatlantic schism". Donalds constantly f__king with our allies with threats. Its the opposite of diplomacy.

That world order left the US spending $22T on European defense. More than every NATO country combined and 2/3rds of our debt. The world order needs to be upended.

Maybe NATO needs to end. The US is the only nation that takes it seriously. The rest make promises and then don't keep them. It is time to stop trusting them and move on. Maybe that is why we took over parts of Greenland.

Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?

And yet they are doing a better job of meeting their obligations and he got part of Greenland. Sure sounds like they are handling him, doesn't it?
