While certainly possible, it is unlikely that Walz would survive a party endorsement challenge and win the general election, even with a weak Republican candidate.   More likely is a split vote that would give a third party candidate a decent chance, a la Jesse Ventura in 1998, who won as a Reform Party candidate.

A majority of Minnesotans, including Democrats, do not want Walz to run again because it would be an unprecedented third term on top of the massive fraud cases.
