I've seen a ton of footage of them.  They have some use at times. But when you wear all-black and a mask and are running around causing trouble at night that's usually a strong sign you're a young punk looking for an excuse to do your best impression of A Clockwork Orange.  That's not peaceful protest.

I'm not into civilian militias that are accountable to nobody. That's mob rule.  In a democratic society you leave things up to the law (police, courts, and politicians who make the laws).
