Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Keep electing the same failed regime, end up with a shithole country.

As much as I love the Jays, and I especially love the 2025 Jays team in particular, a dose of artificial joy is not what this country needed right now. We need to be pissed off because being pissed off is what forces people to realize that they need a change, and our country is in desperate need of change.

Even if this latest wave of disappointment doesn't end up being the straw that finally broke the camel's back (I have absolute faith in the MSM's ability to control their cultists based on what I see here), the fact of the matter is that we didn't deserve that win. It sucks to say it, but Canada is a country of huge losers and the 9th and tenth innings are a perfect reflection of the last election.

Canadian politics aside, it would have been better for MLB had Toronto won the Series.  After crushing the much hated Yankees, the Jays broke Seattle's heart in seven, and gave L.A. all it could handle.

The 18 inning instant classic was very entertaining no matter what the outcome.  Winning for the first time since 1993 (also the last Stanley Cup win) against a big money market and media team like the Dodgers makes for a much better story.

They came so close to getting it done.

I think Dave Roberts did a really good job this series. Kept his cool. Never looked panicked once. Schneider made more adjustments while playing with a lead or a tie than Roberts did playing from behind. Jays scored in bunches at times, but Dodgers found ways to win the closer ones. I think some of the Dodgers players were a little off this series while some of the Jays were playing a bit hotter, but they still managed to win it. Dodgers were clearly the team with more experience. No bold moves. No heroics. Just stuck to the game plan. Schneider put in a pinch runner for Bo in the ninth to try to get the win before extra innings. Second time in the series that he sacrificed a good batter to win now. But Roberts was completely comfortable going into to extra innings and taking as long as it took to score.

Love that Jays team though. So many fun characters.

I love that the Jays are mostly a home-grown team instead of a collection of free agents, like the Yankees usually are. I felt like the '92 team was more organic than the '93 team, it felt like '93 was more of a store-bought team.

The core guys on this year's team all came up through the system together, and I worry that next year all the big free agents will want to come to the jays, and it will be a much different team by the 2026 playoffs.

C'est la vie...

I love Dave Roberts. His stolen base in G4 was one of my favourite plays ever in baseball.

Every critical play in that series to that point went the Yankees way, and the momentum was palpable and overwhelming.

Seeing that little guy standing on first base just believing like that was inspiring. Everyone in the baseball world knew that he was stealing, and the Yankees did everything in their power to stop him, and he just flat-out beat them. In that moment, he turned the tide of that whole series, and the BoSox never looked back.

Just from that one play, Roberts is one of my favourite players ever.

Maybe Roberts did a little better job than Schneider, but Schneider did enough. He is a champion in his own right, as are the Jays.

The Jays biggest mistakes were right on the mound imo.

At critical times, like 0-2 counts when other teams were desperate for a hit, they threw lazy breaking balls that ended up in the middle of the plate.

There's no excuse. You gotta make a guy hit something at 97 MPH at that point, and just rely on your defence if need be.

One Dodger got two 87MPH pitches in a row to the exact same spot, near the middle of the plate, before he cranked his home run. That's little league stuff.

My heart breaks for those guys.

Right....the Jays are still considered a small market team media-wise despite Toronto's world class size.  ( Plus hockey gets more attention up north.)  I live near a small market American League team (Twins) so we know the drill.  Twins won in '91 and the Jays took over the next two years.

It's just better when the small market teams beat the Yankees and Dodgers with their big money players and contracts.

My favourite teams are 1) the Jays and 2) whoever is playing the Yankees.

But TBH, the longer it has been since the Yankees won, the less I am against them. Their one championship since 2000 didn't really bug me.

Still, I really liked seeing teams like 'Zona, Anaheim, Kansas City, St L, the White Sox, and especially the Cubbies win it in recent years. That Cubs SS grinning ear-to-ear while he was picking the grounder to get the last out was also a favourite play of mine.

Baseball can be painfully boring for long stretches, yet it also provides a lot of the most riveting and memorable moments in all of sports.

PS: I've been rooting for the Phillies in recent years, but they seem to be destined to be one of those "always the bridesmaid but never the bride" teams.
