gatomontes99 Posted July 1, 2025 Report Posted July 1, 2025 This is what I voted for! Quote Today, the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles, California, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, and the Los Angeles City Council over policies that Los Angeles enacted shortly after President Donald J. Trump’s reelection to interfere with the federal government’s enforcement of its immigration laws. Not only are Los Angeles’s “sanctuary city” policies illegal under federal law, but, as alleged in the complaint, Los Angeles’s refusal to cooperate with federal immigration authorities contributed to the recent lawlessness, rioting, looting, and vandalism that was so severe that it required the federal government to deploy the California National Guard and the United States Marines to quell the chaos. https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-files-lawsuit-against-sanctuary-city-policies-los-angeles-california The left has said that only the Federal Government can enforce federal laws while also saying that States don't have to abide by them. Either it is the law or it isn't. You can't have it both ways depending on who is in office. No one is above the law. The means you Ms. Bass. 2 Quote Don't you think that if I were wrong that I would know it?
CdnFox Posted July 1, 2025 Report Posted July 1, 2025 It is absolutely necessary for all levels of government to respect the other levels of government. It is absolutely true that the law is the law. If California doesn't like the law then California can lobby and try to talk people into pressuring legislators to make changes and so on but simply ignoring the law is not an option. Hopefully this will put that to bed Quote "That which doesn't kill me... Had better start running."

No one (other than the MAGA CULT) is stupid enough to believe ^these LIES coming from Trump's DoJ. There is NO LEGAL obligation for for LOCAL LEO to cooperate with Federal LEO in the enforcement of Federal laws, which is why ^this lawsuit is NOTHING BUT HARASSMENT. Quote The legal obligation of local law enforcement officers (LEOs) to cooperate with federal law enforcement agencies is complex and involves a balancing of federal and state powers within the US federal system. Generally, local LEOs do not have a legal obligation to enforce federal law or implement federal programs. This principle is rooted in the Tenth Amendment of the US Constitution, which reserves powers not delegated to the federal government to the states, and the anti-commandeering doctrine, which prevents the federal government from compelling states or their officials to enforce federal laws. She didnt have to work with them but she took actions to prevent ICE from doing their job and put ICE agents lives in danger. For that, she is guilty. Do you LIKE IT when your Department of Justice Canada abuses their power to HARASS people? 🤮 An abuse of power is LA passing a law saying the government CAN'T help enforce federal immigration laws, punishing anyone who even wants to with a crime. The DOJ has a strong argument on the grounds of supremacy and past precedent, suggesting that what LA has done here is more than just choosing not to cooperate; it effectively makes it a crime to do so. This is not harassment at all. Quote
