Yesterday, the neoconservative David Brooks wrote this in an OpEd in the NY Times,
"Trumpism… is primarily about the acquisition of power — power for its own sake. It is a multifront assault to make the earth a playground for ruthless men, so of course any institutions that might restrain power must be weakened or destroyed. Trumpism is about ego, appetite and acquisitiveness and is driven by a primal aversion to the higher elements of the human spirit — learning, compassion, scientific wonder, the pursuit of justice. …
What is happening now is not normal politics. We’re seeing an assault on the fundamental institutions of our civic life, things we should all swear loyalty to — Democrat, independent or Republican.
It’s time for a comprehensive national civic uprising. It’s time for Americans in universities, law, business, nonprofits and the scientific community, and civil servants and beyond to form one coordinated mass movement. Trump is about power. The only way he’s going to be stopped is if he’s confronted by some movement that possesses rival power. …
I’m really not a movement guy. I don’t naturally march in demonstrations or attend rallies that I’m not covering as a journalist. But this is what America needs right now."

Turns out there is a clause in the latest budget bill designed to negate the power of Federal courts to cite the POTUS for CONTEMPT. 🤮

That is the NEXT STEP to dictatorship.

Well, if some rando said it, it must be true. T'hell with facts, data and proof. Just take an opinion, assume it is true and when people don't believe you go upstairs crying to your mommy and ask for some cookies and your emotional support unicorn stuffy.

The Rules for Liberal tactics:

  1. If they can't refute the content, attack the source.
  2. If they can't refute the content, attack the poster.
  3. If 1 and 2 fail, pretend it never happened.
  4. Everyone you disagree with is Hitler.
  5. A word is defined by the emotion it elicits and not the actual definition.
  6. If they are wrong, blame the opponent.
  7. If a liberal policy didn't work, it's a conservatives fault and vice versa.
  8. If all else fails, just be angry.

Well according to people one of the clauses in the bill was going to claim 7 year olds were no longer dependents when it came to benefits.

When the truth is, if you have no dependents under 7 it means you can get off your fat ass and get a job since the kids are in school all day and work that minimum requirement

Really? So what happens when those kids get out of school at 3PM and you're working until 5PM?

You shouldn't listen to FOS LIES for your "truth." Duh

Wow, you really are a lot younger than you pretend aren't you.

That's been a common issue for many many decades now going back to ww2. They were often called 'latchkey kids'.

Latchkey kid - Wikipedia

The kids go home and take care of themselves after school for a couple of hours until the parents get home. Traditionally there are children's programming shows that begin around 3:30 to 4:30 and parents traditionally left out snacks and the like.

Sometimes parents would make deals with other parents who were around that the kids could come over and play or at least come talk to them if there was any kind of urgent situation. Sometimes kids would go to child friendly locations such as libraries or after school activities such as sports.

Generation X was basically raised this way they have been one of the most productive and mentally healthy generations that we've seen since before the Boomers.

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data
