Ridiculously Long Ballots in Pierre's Riding

Apparently there are 91 candidates running in Carleton and the ballots are nearly a meter long.

Absurdity is an entirely apropos theatric in politics.

Anyone remember Rick of the Universe? You'd occasionally see him prowling up and down Yonge Street between Eglinton and St Lawrence wearing a long flowing cape a sombrero like hat and bandit mask. He ran for for a councillors seat at City Hall.

I think it's a ridiculous way to protest the electoral system, though. I think of a lot of elderly people I know, and I think this could create a lot of confusion. Not to mention the fact that the ballot boxes have to keep being continually replaced and it is slowing down an election.
