Because???

Seems the Ontario election is not important to posters on this forum.

No matter how you slice it, dice it, dissect it, make excuses for it, Ford won.

Real funny that the Liberal leader could not even win her own seat in her home riding LOL. Maybe she had s the Trudeau albatross around her neck (or remnants of Kathleen Wynne) LOL

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.

Ford's intention in calling this election was to win an increased majority. Why? He said in order to appear strong to Donald Trump. But in reality, he more likely called the election because incumbents have better chances of winning when threats such as tariffs are covered heavily in the media.

However, just like Trudeau in 2021 and Marois in 2014, betting on increasing a governing party's seat count due to polling often tends to fail. That should be the lesson of this election.

Losing 3 seats doesn't change the dynamic much. I guess it would have been nice to extend the majority. But getting a 3rd majority is a big deal in Canadian politics.

Liberals call snap elections all the time.

Thanks, 500channelsurfer.

I don't follow Ontario politics closely.

I simply wanted a smart explication.
