BC NDP scrambling over safe-supply government leak - Business in Vancouver

They lied and people died.  The 'safe drugs'  were sold by crime lords to kids and others and the Fentanyl addicts use the money to buy the harder drugs and died in record numbers and are still doing so today.

Hey @herbie,  the massive number of deaths that resulted  from this and the harm done is directly the fault of people like you who lied their asses off for years (including on here) about the reality.

It begins with crooked pharmacies and housing staff.

It says some pharmacies are alleged to be "offering incentives to clients," with more than 60 pharmacies identified, and that some "community housing staff" require tenants to go to certain pharmacies for their prescriptions.

Other participants in the alleged schemes, according to the document,  include doctors, assisted living residences, and organized criminals.

No weak liberal policies have allowed, criminals just took advantage of it..Who in their right mind would have thought giving an addict free drugs would solve our drug problems...do we give Alcoholics free booze hoping they are going to recover....

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

Not really. The entire idea is completely flawed and useless to begin with and it's clear from the previous investigative reports that almost immediately Addicts began to sell the drugs they were given for free in order to buy the drugs they wanted. Quite some time ago now I posted one of the first investigative journalists articles outlining what happened and it's only grown worse since then. Now there are pharmacies in on it and others as well, everybody is turning it into a profit center. And this was predicted and inevitable

And the whole while the local left kept insisting that there was nothing wrong and that we were all evil people for suggesting there was a problem. Meanwhile children died

No, crime does.

Not in this case. This is state authorized. This is a direct result of a government and the work left insistence that we ignore the science whenever it doesn't say what we want it to and let ideology color our decisions.

I wasn't crying that killed these people. It was the government and woke ideology plain and simple. Far fewer people died when it was a crime and we weren't giving away drugs for free legally

I'm gonna see what I can dig up from CBC on this story. See what our hundreds of millions of dollars a year gets us...

Googling "BC Conservative MLA Elenore Sturko leaked an internal Ministry of Health presentation CBC"...

4 CBC links with that search, only 2 were on target, one of them was basically useless.

Interesting to note that the two articles that were critical of Sturko both featured large pictures of her. The articles covering this issue had no photo of her.

The first link there was the most useful, information-wise: here are the first few paragraphs:

ScreenShot2025-02-08at7_47_29PM.thumb.png.26e7391ff9e465ffbc02b722f7b4607c.png

I just don't think that CBC is putting their hearts into this.

At the end of the day, this story is about a massive gov't cover-up/failure on a massively important topic, involving the deaths of thousands of British Columbians every year, but there's no 'oomph' to it. An article about a ping-pong match in North Korea would have just as much sizzle.

In the most relevant article:

  • Sturko isn't even mentioned until the 6th paragraph,
  • there's no photo of her,
  • the opening line is just: "Conservative critic calls for inquiry into province's safer supply drug program".... there's no mention that the NDP denied this for years

Compare that article above to this, from Cdn's linked article:

  • Two years after saying it wasn’t happening, a year after arguing there was no evidence, and nine months after promising to maybe start tracking the issue, the BC NDP government finally admitted this week that yes, a huge amount of its safe supply prescription drugs are finding their hands into criminals and fuelling an underground network of drug trafficking.

Is that even the same story that CBC was covering? Honest to God, if it was conservatives covering this up it would be Duffygate all over again.

And to be honest, the NDP didn't really "admit it". The truth got leaked first, and then they stopped denying it. If the truth never got leaked, who'd ever know?

Here's more:

  • Two years ago, Sturko brought the issue to the floor of the legislature, only to be told by New Democrats that she was fear mongering, stigmatizing and shaming the vulnerable addicted.

And there's no: "Turns out she was right, we all just ignored her."

But did they just ignore her, or was it worse than that? It seems like CBC spent those two years attacking Sturko... This is from the second link:

ScreenShot2025-02-08at8_00_35PM.thumb.png.65c6893a49f92b9ba54d9b683334b989.png<- Hey, there she is! A picture. YAY!

(But there's only a picture because the article is negative towards her)

So what's all that about, anyways? The big, bolded headline and all the sinister undertones in the follow-up line lead to THIS big news....

Wait for it...

Waiiiit...

  • A leaked letter signed by 13 B.C. Conservative MLAs attacking a fellow caucus member has exposed a rift within the upstart party, just weeks after it became the Official Opposition following a swift rise from political obscurity.

The group of MLAs, which comprises almost one-third of the 44-member B.C. Conservative caucus, sent a letter dated Nov. 29 to leader John Rustad raising concerns about public comments MLA Elenore Sturko made to CBC News on Nov. 23.

Sturko, a former RCMP officer who represents Surrey Cloverdale, said she thought it was appropriate for the Vancouver Police Board to accept the resignation of vice-chair Comfort Sakoma-Fadugba following comments made on social media

OMG, SHE DID WHAT?????? And then they "turned on her" by sending a private letter? OMG, NOT A PRIVATE LETTER! That's like, the worst thing anyone can do. Write a private letter. What a huge attack that was...

Her egregious crime???? She "said she thought it was appropriate for the Vancouver Police Board to accept the resignation of vice-chair Comfort Sakoma-Fadugba following comments made on social media."

WHOOOOOAAAAA, Can you say "party rift?" Omg, there was a secret memo and everything. They're really at each other's throats.

Here's what CBC said in the 4th link on that search:

CBC sucks so bad that if a meteor strikes their Christmas party I will go kiss it while it's still red hot.

If the Cultist Narrative Network/Cultist Broadcasting Corporation gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

Bug-juice is the new Kool-aid.
