What about when politicians are behind closed doors, you think Orwell would have preferred that be maintained?

That's something else entirely depending on what they're discussing. I thought the topic was freedom of speech, truth/disinformation, and censorship.

I don't think it should matter what they're discussing, if it's a public official or politician it's the public's business by definition. It's more about a right to know.

When the public is excluded or ill informed is where a lot of disinformation gets it start.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

I get it that forcing a 1984 depth of transparency on politicians would probably just lead to another wierd dystopia but there's nothing preventing politicians from volunteering to make themselves more transparent to the public.

And the question you never seem to be able to answer is that if voters like you aren't prepared to punish politicians who are found to be corrupt,  WHAT. IS. THE. POINT?

Everybody knew Trudeau was corrupt before his second election. It was a known fact it wasn't maybe or perhaps. And yet people like you just voted for him again.  So if there's no punishment, there's nothing stopping him from doing it again and again and again (Which is PRECISELY what he's done).

So what's the point?  In all the time i've been here i've never seen you answer that.

Instead you just blame harper.

I saw that coming even before his first election - apparently something you missed.

I get it that you're probably ashamed for supporting him the first time too but that's your fault, not Harper's.

And yet you fully supported him. How very interesting. Says about as much about you as it does about him to be honest

I've been saying that to you that for decades now :)  But you consistently blame harper for Justin's crimes.
