What stopped them from doing it during that HUGE window of opportunity? All I know is there was a solution, and Trump killed it to sow chaos because he thought that would help him politically. Quote

Trump told Republicans to kill it because he didn't think he could win if the problem was solved. He is not a patriot and neither are the people who support him. It wasn't even remotely kind of close to the toughest border legislation ever. It was a crap Bill and most republicans were aware of it. Again you have to lie to try and make your point. And worse now you're lying and sounding like trump at the same time. " It was the best most amazing bill ever in the history of bills and everybody told me how they couldnt' believe how amazing it was". It was crap. And not only that it included a ukraine spending provisions that trump didn't like either Now if you were serious .... why would to tie your border bill in with funding for the ukraine? Why wouldn't you separate those? The us's best bill to control the borders was remain. And biden killed that. Yup, Vance was able to deliver some well-polished nonsense responses. 1 Quote

There could have been a solution earlier, and it could have been done without help from the Republicans. The Democrats chose to do nothing when they had the chance. At a time when millions per year were coming over illegally. Biden and Harris...did NOTHING. 9 minutes ago, Matthew said: Explain why Trump and a Republican House and Senate during 2017 and 2018 didn't fix immigration. Then why did trump base his entire campaign on immigration problems in 2015-2016? And despite his dishonest rhetoric on the issue, everyone agrees there has been a poor immigration system in dire need of overhaul. Its been an intractable issue for many decades. The most inconvenient problem for you guys is that you cannot avoid the fact that illegal immigration reached record numbers under the current administration. Yeah but i don't care about that. I want to know why trump and republicans didn't pass a big immigration bil in 2017 and 2018 since it was trump's big #1 issue. This is your own logic, so I want to see you apply it to your own guy. Edited October 4, 2024 by Matthew Quote

The entire reason the bipartisan immigration bill was made is because republicans said they would not vote on Ukraine spending unless democrats agreed to a huge impossible immigration overhaul bill. Basically figuring the thing no one has been able to do for decades would be enough of an obstacle. But then they actually spent months making a the huge impossible bill with all the fixes republicans wanted and most Republicans agreed with it until Trump told them to kill it. Quote

The most inconvenient problem for YOU GUYS is the POTUS does NOT control the number of immigrants coming to the border. Esp not when RepubliCONS are shouting "THE BORDER IS OPEN" every day. Quote

To put it in perspective, more illegals crossed the border by far in 2023 than in all of trump's term.
