There was no “knockout punch” and she stumbled on the first question Nobody is saying she wiped the floor with him but the overwhelming consensus is she came in with a strategy, stuck to it, and won. So suddenly you believe fox news You get why i'm laughing at you right One reporter's take isn't terribly relevant. As i said, pretty much everyone agrees kammy did better. but that's not the same as winning and many have commented there really wasn't a 'winner' per se. And reviewing the debate i have to agree. She did better than most expected, but she missed a lot of opportunities and i don't think she got her message out in the way she really needed to, and i don't think she did any damage to trump at all with anyone who was remotely undecided. Her fan base will cheer but that's about it. Whereas while trump got a few good shots in, he missed far more opportunities and let her get under his skin and blew sections of the debate. Also - i don't know who the hell convinced him that his "mean face" was a good idea but he plastered that on and glared at americans and that is a very bad idea. You don't win elections by looking like grumpy cat So neither got the job done. I doubt it's going to move the needle much. You never know i could be wrong but if she 'won' then we'll see a significant' susained bump in the next week or so and if she didn't then she should stay floating about where she is. It’s not “one reporters’s take” Any perusal of post-debate headlines even in conservative-leaning mainstream outlets either declare that Kamala won or that Trump lost Here’s one from a famous Republican political “guru”: GOP pollster Frank Luntz: Debate will cost Trump the election 09/12/24 08:02 AM ET Campaign Republican pollster Frank Luntz predicted former President Trump’s performance in the Tuesday night debate will ultimately cost him the election in November. In a Wednesday interview on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Luntz criticized the GOP nominee’s performance and pointed to specific moments in the debate against Vice President Harris that he noted were particularly negative. “It was a pretty negative performance. Pretty pessimistic, cynical, contemptuous,” Luntz told Morgan in the interview, highlighted by Mediaite, adding, “and I think that this will cost him, yes.” Luntz hesitated, appearing to choose his words carefully. “I’m trying to decide if I want to go on record, and the answer is yes,” he continued. “I think that — that he loses because of this debate performance.” … https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/4875745-frank-luntz-donald-trump-kamala-harris-debate/amp/ Here’s the conservative National Review’s take on it: Trump’s Trainwreck …If you’re obsessing over how bad, how in the tank for Kamala Harris, the two ABC news moderators were, it’s because you don’t want to come to grips with the brute fact that Donald Trump was a disaster last night. He was unhinged, often incoherent, incapable of completing thoughts and sentences when he had points to make, and led into self-absorbed rabbit-holes … https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/trumps-trainwreck/?utm_source=recirc-mobile&utm_medium=homepage&utm_campaign=header&utm_content=popular&utm_term=first 1 1 Quote

Blah blah blah. Harris did better than trump, i've said so already. But that doesn't mean she 'won'. The purpose of the debate isn't to get more zingers than the other guy, it's to shift voters over to your side. Did trump do that? I don't think so - he did after the first debate, it's easy to call that a 'win'. Did harris? I doubt it. Maybe, you never know with voters but i really doubt it. And looking at people's comments that seems to be the case. We'll see. It will take about a week and then real numbers will be available to see if she got a significant bounce or not Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data

Could you point to the part of the debate where Kamala referenced some kind of success that the country enjoyed as a result of the Biden/Harris administration? I must have missed that part. Her whole debate was "Yeah, we're gonna do everything different. I really hope it works. We're also gonna stop being racially divisive." Well this is largely why I say there are no winners. Her performance was better than trump's, but she did not really perform well. She did not present a vision for the country, she did not expand on her policies substantially, she did not defend her record or give anyone any reason to believe she would do better in the future. If you take out all the trump parts and just watch her parts you're not any more likely to vote for her than you were when you started watching. And to a large degree that's how you measure who won or lost, when you look at their performance on it's own and if more people would vote for them as a result that's a win. If the same or fewer people would that's not a win. i don't think that harris won a lot in that debate. She looked a little better and that is a good thing for her but I don't believe there's going to be a lot of people voting for her that weren't going to be before Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data

Going on about the dangers of immigrants eating cats is not an election winner. And there's so much else he could have said. Again just watching his performance without her, nobody who wasn't going to vote for him is going to vote for him as a result of that show. 1 Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data
