Yet again, this is not something Musk said... these are documented acts of the Government of Turkey. They forced twitter to censor through the law, it was not a request.

You have to be one of the most obtuse posters on here for having no care at all about facts or honest discussion.

Has nothing to do with believing him, unlike you, I can read and do based searches of the news and current events.

He did what the law compelled him to do in those places. It was not a choice.

You are still too stupid or too dishonest to stop framing this as merely being asked to do something.

Why hasn't this clown been deported back to South Africa?

Of course this is the guy you want to deport. How about all the criminal illegal aliens?

Of course.

The illegal alien controversy is overblown, and none of them are attempting to subvert democracy like Musk is. They may as well deport Rupert Murdoch back to Australia, while they are at it.

The very presence of illegal immigrants here is subverting Democracy.

There have been illegal immigrants in North America since the beginning of the formation of the nations. There has been no subverting of democracy. Perhaps you do not know the definition of democracy, considering your love for Trump and Elon.

This is comical, you are the one who started this thread wanting to use the force of government to shut him up.

It seems you are the one with an issue understanding Democracy.

Also, illegal immigrants dilute citizens votes in the census.

I have trouble understanding Democracy.

Also, can you put me on ignore? I am fascinated with you, and will stay up all night chatting with you, since I am lonely. However, I need to work tomorrow.

Ok then. Your wish is granted.

Your girlfriend is already giving me tons of "help" nudge* nudge* wink* wink* 😃

It's easy to see how weak you are once you are up against someone who quickly and easily tears apart the initial brainless arguments you are making.

Perhaps.

However, you should not flatter yourself. You have the intellectual capacity of a Donkey.

How does it feel to be bested by someone you think so lowly of?

We used to grant LICENSES to media channels and held them to high standards of behaviour.

There is a significant difference between 'news media' and 'social media'. In the U.S. the owners of 'news media' are treated as publishers meaning they are responsible for content, while the owners of the 'social media' giants (such as Musk) are treated as non-publishers and are not held liable for content. However there are some rules but not nearly as stringent as news media for obvious reasons.

Those distinctions predate the technology. They need to be updated.

While it's possible that certain things be updated, twitter (X) has between 200 to 250 million users daily. How conceivable is it that Musk be made liable for the content of every one of the 250 million daily users?

To what end?

It seems your interest is opposed to free speech.

Does it make more sense that he have no obligations at all?

Laws are passed according to technology of the day. This is why music copyright is based around sheet music printing, it predates the gramophone...

Even free speech, as a concept, predates social media technology.

Trying to discuss it in the context of the bill if rights, written in the 18th century, is limiting.

Any policy needs to be discussed in terms of costs and benefits.

Rights are not discussed on their costs and benefits or they are not rights at all.

You clearly have no interest in freedom of speech. It is one of the foundational rights.
