Here's an idea for amnesty, for illegal aliens.

How many MILLION illegal aliens are in America today? Most of us want those animals deported. But I'm willing to compromise.

1.  Legalize ALL of them. Amnesty, but

2. They have the same status as convicted felons (since they ARE criminals.) They do NOT have the right to vote, in county, state or federal elections. (There is NO constitutional right to vote for an illegal alien.)

3. If any of those animals want to be able to vote, they must leave the country and get in line with the LEGAL IMMIGRANTS who are waiting to LEGALLY come to this country.

 

 

Okay, goose steppers. Tell us why you would oppose this.

I'd rather just deport their asses and throw the stubborn ones in prison. It could be a special prison that focuses on heavy labor instead of just ass sitting.

well - they can't vote anyway unless they're granted citizenship can they? I'm not fully up to speed on the us laws in all respects but i thought you had to be a citizen to vote?

SO you'd just have to grant them permanent landed immigrant status and then  bar them from applying for citizenship and you'd already have what you were talking about.

Of course -nothing would stop them from donating to political parties or volunteering to help during elections. SO there's still that.

As a matter of fact, they ARE voting in blue districts where government photo ID is not a requirement.

The only way to make elections in US legitimate is to require photo ID at EVERY poll.

They would NEVER get citizenship. They are criminals. All they would get would be a guarantee NOT to be deported, assuming they committed no crimes. And they would have to come out of the shadows.

No welfare, no vote, no right to own firearms...

That's as far as I would go.

The only way I would agree to prison would be if special prisons were constructed. Right now the prison system is so overloaded that judges are accepting plea bargains all over the place.

I'd rather deport their criminal asses as well. But this is a compromise.

Yeah - thats what i was saying.  You can be 'legal' but your crimes to date will bar you from citizenship.  You're a permanent resident but never a citizen.

Careful  - you crack that right to own firearms thing open even a tiny amount and i guarantee you the dems will open that crack and restrict guns entirely. The constitution does not restrict based on citizenship and the moment you introduce NEW 'exceptions' you open the door to more.

If we did do something like that, the citizens by birth bullshit would definitely need to go away.

That already exists.  You can be the us equivilant of a 'landed immigrant' without being a citizen, same as in Canada

Convicted FELONS are not permitted to own firearms or vote.  That has been on the books for decades.

I would say good point, but there are already reasonable restrictions on ownership of firearms in the criminal code today. Insane  people cannot own them. Convicted felons cannot own them. Minors cannot own them. And truthfully, illegal aliens ARE CRIMINALS. No need to write a new law. Just enforce the one on the books.

The dems have pushed hard to expand those 'reasonable restrictions' - it's only been by absolutely holding the line that us gun owners have held their rights.  If you give them an inch, pretty soon they'll take a foot  and after that you won't have a leg to stand on  as the saying goes
