Breaking the Bank

Quote

We’ve all gotten more or less used to Donald Trump’s robbing his supporters blind with deceptive, aggressive fundraising tactics and using the millions he raises for self-serving purposes—it’s been going on for years now, after all, and the supporters don’t appear to mind. Is there a limit to their tolerance? We may get to find out.

Campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission this week show Joe Biden is in a far stronger financial position than Trump at this point in the race. After raising an eye-popping $42 million in January, Biden’s campaign and its associated committees reported that they entered February with $130 million cash on hand. Team Trump, by contrast, has just $65 million in the bank across its committees going into February.

At this point in the cycle, a certain amount of financial lag from Trump would be expected: The GOP primary hasn’t exactly been competitive to date, but he’s been obliged to spend millions campaigning to make sure it stays that way. Biden hasn’t had those same expenses, and he’s been able to fundraise like crazy off each of Trump’s primary victories: None of the pain, all of the gain.

But the biggest hole in Team Trump’s balance sheets isn’t the primary. It’s the eye-watering amount of money his PACs have pumped into covering his legal bills: nearly $50 million in 2023 alone.

So who here is sucker enough to pay Trump's legal bills?

So who's paying for all the cases brought against Trump, that would be you the taxpayer.

Suckers all around.

Ah, but in this case it us not the Left spending it all, its Donald Trump for all his legal expenses.  He every recently claimed that HE, not other Republican candidates in any state for any office, would be getting EVERY CENT of ANY money donated to the RNC because (he declared) " I AM THE RNC now, and no one else will be getting any because I have all these witch hunts I have to deal with, they're after me, yes they are, and I have to campaign but they refuse to listen, so I have all these expenses and the RNC has to pay because I have to raise a lot more money to defeat Colorado ".

Yes one hears Trump does like it on his filet o fish sandwiches, and he drinks vs gallon or more duet Coke daily as well., which accounts for his very weird behavior, stumbling mental blocks and the tremors in his right hand and arm he tries to hide when he gives speeches.  Look very closely at his hands, you will see that tremor, its a pretty clear sign on f all those years of huge intakes of diet Coke.  Diet Coke contains Aspartame, and while the FDA generally considers UT safe at a normal amount if consumption...say two cans a few times a week....Trumps incredible over indulgence of 8-10 cans a day already  has likely caused a few of the adverse reactions to having b too much of it.  Unfortunately in large quantities its main risks are Cancer, Liver Disease, Kidney Disease, Mood Swings, and Behavioral and Cognitive problems.   These last three make him unfit, on medical grounds, for any position of Public Trust and that's on a medical basis...his recent comments broadcast LIVE in the states prove he is already fully under the brain altering effects of this drug.

Who did you think is paying for the judge? the court room time? Etc etc?

And i see you still can't produce a link to back up your claims of what he said.

Here's the thing Caswell - if the donors to trump want to give him money for whatever reason that's their choice and they do it knowingly.  But - none of the people paying for it had a say in the numerous frivolous lawsuits such as the new york witch hunt.

And anyway - if he follows hillary and biden's lead i'm sure he'll get all that money and more back when he's president :)

So you are saying that Trump feels he has wasted enough money on the first New York trial,  and is just backing down from defending  himself in all the others?  I am sure he will love having you as his attorney for free!

As is often the case - when a person uses the phrase " so what you're really saying is.."  it's because they feel that they cannot come up with an argument to refute the other person's position and are reduced to lying to try to pretend they said something they didn't so they can argue with that.

And that is the case here as well.

I never claimed any such thing.  I'm sure you thought it was very clever to try to pretend i said something else to turn the discussion away from your failures but honestly you'd have to be 'woke' levels of stupid to think that would slip by here.

But you did say ut and now you are walking it back. The same thing the rest of the Republican Party does for Trump after he sticks his tongue out too far ..

How about Social Security? Medicare?

Is China viable?

How about it? Do you have a point?

China has been around for thousands of years, so I would say yes.

How about not!

My point - America has lasted longer than Japan or China, as democracies.

Why not SS & Medicare? I paid for my SS & Medicare my whole working life.

Taking it from me now would be robbery.

Was Xi elected by the people? I don't believe he was.

Xi was elected president on 14 March 2013, in a confirmation vote by the 12th National People's Congress in Beijing.

Is China a democracy or a dictatorship?

The Chinese constitution describes China's system of government as a people's democratic dictatorship. The CCP has also used other terms to officially describe China's system of government including "socialist consultative democracy", and whole-process people's democracy.

Sorry, blame that on Amazon, this is one of their small tablets, it has very limited memory for vocabulary and its dictionary is ...pathetic.  it gets a lot wrong and I do my best to fix it but even when it looks ok to post, by the time it Does, it alters what I write, changes whole sentences by changing two words, or similar.  You will have to forgive me on this, my regular laptop is in a storage facility I cannot get to presently.

Well i'm hardly going to give anyone too much of a hard time for a spelling mistake but as you'll note that 's not what my reply hinged on.
