godzilla Posted February 25, 2024 Report Posted February 25, 2024 Trumps wins hands down in the SC GOP primary! the only problem is he only got 60% of the vote. Trump: "i have never seen such solidarity in the GOP before!". Haley voters state that they will not vote for Trump in the general election. This is not the usual way things work where traditional GOP supporters simply fall in line with whomever is eventually the nominee. With all Trump vs Biden national polls within margin of error... then the general election will be close statistically... but Trump's history of increasingly losing the popular vote puts him in a very tight spot. the "path" through the electoral college is the only way for Trump but... given this primary softness, its a real problem that the DNC does not have to deal with. Biden is not popular with Democrats but its apparently pretty hard to find traditional Democratic supporters saying that they won't vote for him if he's the nominee. Hidden in Trump’s big South Carolina win: A not-so-small problem for him in November Quote

Hidden in Trump’s big South Carolina win: A not-so-small problem for him in November The only reason Haley voters won't vote for Trump is because they are probably Democrats who crossed the line to vote for her, South Carolina has an open primary, so anyone can vote. The woman lost in Nevada to none of the above. You want her to stay in because she attacks Trump, her staying in at this point is pointless. If her hope is that Trump will drop out, I don't think it is in the cards for her and even if he does, it doesn't mean she automatically gets the spot. I don't really know how the GOP handles the situation if the front runner drops out. I guess if it is still while the primaries goes on she keeps any delgates she received but any of the opponents can get back and go against her. I don't think she becomes the nominee even if Trump drops out. Edited February 25, 2024 by Fluffypants Quote

That silly masochist is going to get her ass kicked all the way to Trump's inauguration next January. lol Quote

Hidden in Trump’s big South Carolina win: A not-so-small problem for him in November We should all send Nikki Haley a nice letter with $$ telling her to stay the course...it will prevent Trump from getting enough primary votes....unless he cheats again, and if there IS any fraud involved you can bet that this time it won't be covered up and pushed out of the Republican public view....not to .mention everyone else watching for Trump sneakiness in Elections. Or..she could hang on, despite not winning the nomination, and take her group with her, hanging on in the race anyway. It is a good GOP strategy , as just about anyone with a brain knows by now that the Country will, with the exception of a small group.of crazies, not support Trump as a dictator for one second in the White House , and, it is very likely that Trump will be in prison before he can take Office no matter how much he cheats. That will leave the only viable candidate for Repubs and Independents to vote for...Nikki Haley, the SANE Republican candidate. And at that point you might also see Mitt Romney and Governor Christie reappear as candidates also.
