However, the groundwork has been laid for QB's that move around and can play off script. Also, the new rules have made throwing over the middle more possible. In the past, no one threw the slant pattern over the middle because the strong safety (Ronnie Lott and Darren Woodson) would ring your bell. With the leading with the helmet tackle now banned.. the safety is more of a defensive back than enforcer. Quote
