Was at our cenitaph for the ceremonies.

Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

WTF were these guys doing in France in June 1944?

A better question: wtf were Newfoundlanders doing in Belgium in 1916.

=====

Europeans every century or so fight each other.

For centuries, we Canadians have a civilised society. Despite our different languages and religions, we Canadians get along.

Newfoundland was a British colony at the time, not yet within Confederation

Newfoundland did not join Canadian Confederation until 31 March 1949

the Motto of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment is Better Than The Best

Colonel-in-Chief is HRH Princess Anne, The Princess Royal

the Quick March of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment is The Banks of Newfoundland

Slow March is The The Garb of the Old Gaul

This is my greatest fear.

As before August 1914, in 2024 an elite believes that it has solved problems.

It's even more naive to believe that there will never be any problems that require solving. No one remembers the people who believed that.

If the Cultist Narrative Network/Cultist Broadcasting Corporation gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

Bug-juice is the new Kool-aid.

We English-Canadians - by nature - seek a way to get along.

Newfoundlanders survive.

Moreover, Atwood writes bad dialogue. Unlike Roger Lemieux, she does not know how we speak.

the elites have destroyed Canada from within

thus the war is already lost

hence I wouldn't bother to worry about it anymore
