Guest Posted February 28, 2023 Report Posted February 28, 2023 There are typically songs, and even at times entire albums in your playlist that just have never managed to get old. Either they just resonate with you in a certain way, or you just really like that particular sound. What song(s) have stood the test of time for you? Quote
Guest Posted March 6, 2023 Report Posted March 6, 2023 Quite a few for me. Dredg - Zebraskin I mean, that song takes me way back. Never has gotten old to me. Quote
Guest Posted March 6, 2023 Report Posted March 6, 2023 I also have always loved many others, from quite a few genres. Buju Banton - Action To Isis - Dulcinea and everything in between. Quote
August1991 Posted March 14, 2023 Report Posted March 14, 2023 IMHO, people mostly remember songs/melodies from their youth. Or books/novels they discovered when they were teenagers. But some music or stories stand the test of time. ==== Nowadays, no one remembers Arnold Bennett; but everyone remembers a melody of Mozart. Or one of the stories of Somerset Maugham. Quote
August1991 Posted March 14, 2023 Report Posted March 14, 2023 They (Keanu Reeves?) say a person dies twice: First, when the person dies. Second, when everyone stops thinking of the person. ===== Notoriety is one thing. The person's idea another. Quote
impartialobserver Posted May 2, 2023 Report Posted May 2, 2023 3 songs I still listen to 30+ years later Ball and Chain - Social distortion Like Cockatoos - The Cure Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division Quote
Guest Posted June 17, 2023 Report Posted June 17, 2023 Urbandub - No Ordinary Love. Its a cover for Sade's hit single, but in my opinion is better than the original. But it more or less reminds me of the first time I ever landed in the Philippines. They're superstars in their native country, but it was them who introduced me to the wealth of talent from that country. Quote
Guest Posted June 17, 2023 Report Posted June 17, 2023 Biffy Clyro is another band I discovered while traveling. My Recovery Injection has stood the test of time and then some for me. Quote
OftenWrong Posted June 18, 2023 Report Posted June 18, 2023 I was and am a guitarist. Still love some of the songs by Led Zeppelin, Rush, Max Webster, Van Halen and Kiss (lol). Many great tunes from that era. Quote

It's either Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky. If you don't know, guess one of the three. You're 90% chance to sound smart. Quote
Legato Posted March 27, 2024 Report Posted March 27, 2024 Any film score by Ennio Morricone. Gabriel's Oboe. Lyrics added later became Nella Fantasia. Quote
