blackbird
California’s reparations proposals may carry a steep price for Democrats Democrats in San Francisco district and California are proposing to pay anything from hundreds of thousands of dollars to millions of dollars to each descendent of a slave. Is this similar to the billions of dollars in payout to First Nations people in Canada that have already been going on? Maybe the American FNs could get in on it too. Don't forget about the Japanese who were displaced and sent to other locations in WW2. And what about the Chinese? The Hispanics perhaps? Contrarian
@robosmith @Rebound Friends or Foes from California. 😄 Brother preacher @blackbird has a sermon today. I think he is accusing your state of being neo-Marxist. At least he uses the word "neo", if he would have said Marxist, then he would have gotten the rant from me. Any comments? 🍿 Edited February 11 by Contrarian
Queenmandy85
How is "Neo-marxist" different from regular marxist? Which tennent of Neo-marxism is this under? Marx said the means of production belong to the proletariat. How does this relate to that? It has been 50 years since I studied marxism so I'm a bit hazy. Not sure if this was to our preacher or me. but will explain in my mind, the process: when one born-Westerner here uses "Neo" it means that one understands what Marxism did around the world, the real deal. "Neo" I think is being used as version 2.0, not as violent. It's used to describe forces that don't really have political power as Stalin and Lenin did. When one born-Westerner here uses "Marxist" one actually thinks the same power that Lenin and Stalin summoned under the teachings of a good for nothing, Karl Marx, will be possible to take or already are in control here too. I hope that explains my reasoning. So, when I see born-Westerners use the term: Neo-Marxism, even though their whole point is paranoic, it means in my view, there is a few % of critical thinking there and hope is present. 😄 Edited February 11 by Contrarian

My experience over the years has been that some people who use the terms "conservative" or "marxist" don't know what they are talking about, but, then they believe the same thing about me. Is mob politics in the world today. Edited February 11 by Contrarian
I am Groot
California was never a slave state. It's absurd they want to pay reparations to people for slavery. This seems more like virtue signalling and a desperate desire to show how 'anti racist' the supporters of this nonsense are.

Any comments? 🍿 No, it is completely capitalist. Slaves' compensation was STOLEN from them and their estate. Actual damages deserve compensation, just as the victims of ANY theft would be compensated by those complicit in that THEFT which INCLUDES the governments which sanctioned it. On top of the THEFT, there was reneging of the compensation of 40 acres and a mule PROMISED at the time. Of course slaves imported from Africa were NOT First Nations people of North America.
