Republicans rate Biden's handling of the presidency two years in: 'Deserves an F'

Republicans believe President Joe Biden's handling of inflation, the crisis at the southern border and the national crime spike are just a few of the reasons his presidency deserves an "F," two years into his presidency.

Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., said the president deserves an "F" grade for his first two years in office, citing the economy and border crisis as some of the many reasons he believes Biden has let down the American people.

"Halfway through President Biden’s term in office, he deserves an ‘F’ for failing the American people. Wyoming families can’t afford another two years of Joe Biden’s failures," Barrasso said Friday, which marked two years since Biden was sworn into office on Jan. 20, 2021.

"For two years Joe Biden has waged a war on Wyoming and American energy," continued Barrasso. "He’s driven inflation to a 40-year high and borrowed trillions of dollars to pay off his liberal base. President Biden caused the worst border crisis in history. As commander in chief, he embarrassed the nation with his deadly surrender to terrorists in Afghanistan. The American people want more American energy, lower inflation, a strong military, a secure border, and safe communities."

Let us examine the success in the first three years of his administration before the coronavirus flattened the economy. The unemployment rate fell less than 4 percent, which was near the lowest in half a century. The inflation rate fell to 1 percent, which was even below the target level set from the Federal Reserve. This has kept the interest rates on mortgages and many other loans down to the lowest level in modern times.

The portion who fell below the poverty line declined to the lowest level ever recorded in 2019. The wealth of households, including their stocks, savings, and real estate, rose to the highest level in history. The Census Bureau saw the median income rise to above $65,000, up by more than $5,000 in three years and double the gains from the last decade.

Almost all of these benefits were most pronounced for minorities, notably Blacks and Hispanics. Liberals counter this record by saying that Trump is now the first president in modern times to lose jobs in four years. This was clearly a result of the pandemic and, unless the left blames Trump for the coronavirus, the critical issue is how well the economy rebounds.

According to most forecasts of the Federal Reserve and Wall Street, the unemployment rate was estimated to be 8 percent to 10 percent. But it has fallen to less than 7 percent from 13 percent in just six months. The growth rate hit a record of more than 30 percent in the third quarter of last year, and it could reach over 8 percent in the fourth quarter.

Here was another remarkable feat: Under Trump, the United States became energy-independent. The month that Trump left office, one year ago, America was importing zero oil from Saudi Arabia, largely because U.S. oil and gas production had surged. Now we have a president who has to beg the Saudis and Iranians to produce more oil. How humiliating. 

Unelected Joe inherited an expanding economy from LEGALLY ELECTED PRESIDENT TRUMP.
