Officials in the City of El Paso, Texas have declared a state of emergency as border crossings have overwhelmed law enforcement personnel.

Mayor Oscar Leeser announced the state of emergency during a press conference Saturday, saying he could no longer keep residents safe.

"I said from the beginning that I would call it when I felt that either our asylum seekers or community were not safe," Leeser said, according to KFOX14.

 

These are animals. They are NOT MEXICAN IMMIGRANTS. They aren't even MEXICANS. (Earth to cretins: When you crawl through Central American jungles and cross over illegally into Mexico, that does not make you a Mexican.)

And had Nazi Pelosi finished the Wall (she certainly has one around her own house) maybe those animals would have stayed in Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, etc.

I'll be so glad when Trump gets back into the White House and finds a way to finish that wall. Those animals do NOT belong in America, not like this.

That's a value judgment on your behalf.  There's nothing to debate against someone who things that some human lives are worth more than others.  You might hope that they believe in axiomatic principles, and then find some contradictions with their past statements but at that point you're hoping to be talking to a principled non-humanist.  Not sure if I have encountered such an animal (metaphorically, not pejoratively)

There's a "body of work" beyond the original post. But any way you slice it, dehumanization is the language of genocide. Once people are reclassified as animal, or somehow less than human, it gives some license to say or do anything to these individuals. And this language is never applied to those who showed up at Ellis island seeking asylum, but only to those who show up at the southern border.

1. Fair enough.  I have the OP on 'ignore' and so extreme depths of boredom will get me to engage with them.  You're not on ignore and so a post between you and an ignore-a-moose is low priority but still above doing laundry.

2. Here's one: Hungarians.  Open arms to them when they needed asylum in the 20th century.  Hungary, though, closed its borders to Syrians/Afghans/Iranians. 

Even worse, US online news sites spread anti-Afghani propaganda about Afghans who were brought to the US after HELPING the US military with their war there.
