Educated people get it. Maybe you should hang around a few. Trump did not lose by 7 million LEGAL votes.

I began by saying I don’t know the family law in each of the 50 states, but in the ones I looked at, only California permits a judge to consider a domestic violence conviction. In fact, in the case of a felony conviction, alimony awards are prohibited.

“Oh, just get a good lawyer,” you say.  Well… sure!! Just sell your house to pay a good lawyer so you don’t have to pay alimony.  It’s not corporate law, it’s family law. And, as I said, in states where judges are statutorily prohibited from considering a DV conviction, you’re SOL anyway. Beat your wife, go to prison, and collect alimony from her when you get out. Seriously, no joke.

There's a reason why certain people drive Mercedes and certain people drive used Buicks.

But you've got me curious. Has there been a case in California where an animal beat his wife, went to prison and then was awarded alimony from her when he got out? Gee! I wonder how a prisoner could have afforded a lawyer powerful and skillful enough to accomplish that. I'm not saying it's impossible, (especially with the left wing woke meth head judges in California, all appointed by left wing wok meth head Democrats). It's very possible.

I agree with you that it's not right.

Nazis systematically rounded up over six million people and gassed them to death. We use the word Nazi to mean almost anything, but almost never do we mean the systematic extinction of an entire group of people.  What happened to black people in America did not end in 1865. It certainly continued into the 1960’s and many believe we still have vestiges of it today. We had a black President and three back Supreme Court justices, and while that is progress, it does not mean that racism is over.

I don’t like the fact that Massachusetts and Oregon elected the first openly-lesbian governors, because I believe we should be past the labels. One of them was interviewed on TV, and was asked, “When did you first realize you were attracted to women?” Have you EVER seen an interviewer asked a straight male candidate when he was first attracted to women?

I don’t vote for people because of their race, gender or sexual identity, and I think that if all the minority groups in America coalesced around the single goal of true equality for all, the Democrats would never lose another election. But that may never happen, because each group has unique needs, and separate leaders arise who articulate those needs.

Not surprisingly, we tend to filter out all the rational things they say and make a huge deal whenever someone says something stupid.

I agree with you that racism is not over, nor will it be any time soon, not as long as there are Democrats.

I'm also a bit put out by candidates who run based on their being lesbians. If they somehow believe their sexual preference is a resume enhancer, then those who vote for them are moe rons.

Democrats probably won't be losing too many elections, since they have figured out how to keep counting votes and adding votes until they win.

Oh, great. This old chestnut:

Speaking of chestnuts:

Quote

For like offenses (and controlling for variables) a black child is more likely to face harsher consequences at school. So are boys relative to girls, for that matter.

Guess who's killing all the black men in the US...

Hint: It's not cops, white people, Chinese people, Latinos, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Indo-Americans, aboriginals...

And it's especially not cops, just in case I need to mention it again, but you'd never know it from listening to Bidentards.

I know you never guessed yet, it's black men. Apparently they're racist against each other, because that's the only reason that anyone ever does anything to them, right?

Quote

"If you acknowledge racism it means that you're racist!"

More like: "If it's racially divisive, foolish, and there's no proof of it whatsoever, it's racist."

Everything that Dems say checks two or more of those boxes.

Quote

Look, people are people. They have flaws and biases both conscious and unconscious. Teachers are overwhelmingly white and overwhelmingly female. Administrators skew the same way. There are differences in the ways that humans relate to or understand "otherness." If you don't think some of that bleeds through to school discipline you're a fool.

So you believe Obama's theory that everyone is racist. Shocker.

Do you know why you believe that everyone is racist? Hint, grab a mirror.

you can't even manage to acknowledge that systemic racism is a problem. Oy.

Stop referring to your foolish leftist theories as if they're realities.

That's a lot of words to post without coming even close to the topic of discussion. You wanna try again? Anything to say about the demonstrable systemic racism?

By the time she ultimately prevailed, she had spent over $500,000 in attorney fees. That is why the law is changed, so that CA judges no longer have discretion if there is a felony conviction. No discretion means it doesn’t cost half a million in lawyer fees.

On the other hand, if someone were to leak it to the prison that he hurt kids, he might not make it out of prison.

I've seen instances where the wife is the breadwinner and the husband stays home with the kids. Excuse me for being kind of a sexist and old fashioned in that matter, but a man has to work. It's his job. A man is not a wife. That is total bullschit. If both spouses work (and I absolutely have ZERO problem with that) they can afford the best care in the world for their kids and have a good life. But alimony for a nurturing man who sits home from work? Does he also breast feed the kids?

I have ALWAYS agreed that there is systematic racism and it will always exist so long as there is a Democrat Party.  Blue states are the most RACIST places on the planet. Democrat politicians have NOT changed since their Jim Crow days. EVERY Democrat president since JFK has been a Jim Crow cross burning RACIST.

Racists are passing laws in Congress. That's about as systematic racist as it gets.

Point is, a $500,000 legal bill is a pretty F-info big impediment to divorce for a lot of people, wouldn’t you agree?

And you’re probably thinking you could never possibly afford that, but then there’s a family home, and it gets sold, or loans taken out…. And the kids suffer a lot.

Back to the discussion: Some families are better off split up and the law should make that as easy and affordable, at least when justified via criminal conviction (which is difficult to get!).

And, back to our first grade kid who’s acting like an animal: He isn’t an animal; he’s a child. And he’s acting the way we expect under difficult circumstances.  He’s not trying to be treated like an animal, he’s trying to express what he cannot express.  On a purely financial level, dollars and cents, it is FAR FAR less expensive to tend to that first grader’s needs than to tend to the issues which will develop if not treated in first grade. Hitting other kids becomes stabbing, or stealing, or drug dealing.  The costs just go up and up, all around. And all this kid needed was to be invited to some birthday parties and play dates.

A couple of items:

1. I didn't see the half a mil amount in the article you listed. I did see where the victim was forced to pay $37,000 of Shawn's legal defenses. But again, the victim had a pretty good career, making six figures a year. And for regular divorce cases, (unless the lawyer runs in deep pocket circles) an average family law attorney won't get too many cases if he/she charges a half a mil in fees. I do agree that some families are better off split up. (Part of me is wondering if the victim had a father who was still living or some older brothers, who (from a John Grisham novel scenario) would take this creep out back and beat the living crap out of him.)

2. Let that first grade kid seriously injure another kid, and EVERYBODY will treat him like an animal. And the school will wind up on the hook for a HUGE lawsuit. You took a chance by trying to be a social worker. I admire your courage, because in that situation I wouldn't have been so generous. Then again, the REAL animals sometimes appear at grades 3 through 6. (I've seen them while subbing.) Their parents don't give a rat's ass and they will wind up committing felonies soon enough, maybe even aggravated battery. First grade there is the possibility for intervention. But the parent has to step up, poor or not.

Because I needed a science class (and a good laugh) in college, I wound up taking a useless sociology course. You can imagine how I shocked the class when they began talking about the purpose of the criminal justice system. Most of the limp wristed snowflakes there pontificated about how prisons are supposed to rehabilitate the unfortunate victims of society who had the misfortune of getting caught committing rape, burglaries or muggings. I turned every head in the class when I said the criminal justice system exists for one purpose: To protect the public.  I made enemies of pretty much every limp wrist in that class. (Pissed them off even worse when I got the highest grade in the class.)

I don't view public schools or prisons as some noble cause to better mankind and "change the world." Public schools are supposed to educate  the public.  Prisons are supposed to protect the public from the animals. Simple as that.

That little first grader is the luckiest kid of all time. People like you intervened. I PRAY he earns that trust and doesn't do something that makes you regret taking that step.

How did they know your grade and you know everyone else's?

Is that some kind of new wokeness where they make the grades PUBLIC, going on in schools these days?

Where I went to university, no grades were PUBLIC.

They saw me burn through the tests. I was a master test taker, all throughout college. They also saw how much more intelligent I was in class than they were. They knew I was smoking their  Woke asses.

Only a cretin looks down on substitute teachers.

I didn't want a career in business. Not a good fit. My first teaching job was English and composition at a small community college. Wasn't too happy with the politics involved, and the pay wasn't as good as substitute teaching for Orange County. (This goes back to 1999.)

Substitute teaching is not my only job, by the way. I do well in the other career, but learned from experience not to share that career on political message boards, especially then the pre pubescent NAZIS found was to show up at my job and  put on a show.

I would have gone into law. (It was pretty simple, not having a lot of math.) But lawyers mostly are ass holes. Who wants to go to work every day with that element?

What works for me is the knowledge that I'm part of the best education system in the country best schools, best teachers and smartest state government.

I could certify and teach full time. I've been offered the job many times. But it's not where I want to be. And I don't think I could put up with the schitt the other teachers put up with, from bureaucrats to helicopter parents. I just don't have the patience.

It's also what I don't post here that often. (besides not having the time.) I can take only so much stupidity. At least school kids have an excuse.

I don't think any of this is remotely true. Your posts are delusional and even in Florida I don't think people can finish college without learning the difference between fact and opinion, or what a primary source is. Nice try. Not buying it.
