Prices of homes are driven up by the buyers that keep offering higher and higher prices for the homes. In major cities, there has always been a high level of renters. There have always been basement apartments as well. If the percentage is higher, it may very well be that the cities have grown exponentially. Show me a politician or party, federal, provincial, municipal that does not promise tax cuts prior to every election and then raises them once elected??
