Should the public have full access to vaccine distribution information?

As an aside, in my city it's kind of interesting. Some neighborhoods have very careful traffic planning, many generous measures, all-way stops, speed bumps and limits of 30 km / hr. And in some others, there's none. No measures and no limits, literally. All, nice and careful planning, and nada planning is paid from the same city budget financed by our property taxes.

Back to vaccines, obviously they are paid by the public too. And they can be considered somewhat more critical resource, than traffic control important as it is. So should public be able to see in real time what vaccines are distributed to the population, where and how?

I'm asking this for two reasons: first, in my understanding of a responsible and transparent democratic government this would be done immediately and at the same time with the beginning of the distribution (remember, "training" from September of last year?) as an absolutely necessary condition of transparency that doesn't even need to be discussed. And in the reality, it appears to be about the last item on at least some administration's agenda, not even discussed.

And secondly, we have seen already the reports of CEO and members of the board with the family receiving compassionate doses. Should we, the public have the right not just to know (eventually) but to see and immediately, what happens to our critical public resource?

That is, if we are still a democracy. If anybody still cares about questions and answers.

Hurray, hurray and hurray, in it together again and now there's more of the vaccine! Wait, not so fast please, which "vaccine"? There's vaccine and vaccine, for example one vaccine is 95% effective and the other - 62, both purchased for public money and which one did you mean?

Suppose in a city we get 10 batches of the first vaccine and 25 of the other. So which postal codes and "local facilities" will get which? Do we know? Can we know? Do we have the right to know?

And if we cannot know that, then how do we know that we're still a democracy?

BC has already decided. Now that LTC homes and their workers are done it will be done on an age basis starting on March 8 with those over eighty and other highly vulnerable first, then working down in five year increments. The AZ vaccine will initially be offered to first responders, teachers etc out of their age bracket if they want to be done right away or they can wait until they are eligible for the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.

The AZ vaccine trials showed it 62% effective against symptoms. Real world use has shown it to be over 90% effective in preventing hospitalizations and 100% effective against deaths. Most of the people vaccinated in the UK have had the AZ vaccine.

Kudos to BC for at least looking at this question. It is all fine and great but first, the public has the right to know and more importantly, any responsible democratic government imv has to and would make such a policy clear and transparent to the public upfront, before distribution has begun.

Why do you think they won't. BC just announced this today and they were very clear that it all depends on how much of each vaccine we get and when. No one's plan can be cast in stone

I would prefer that the public first try and find out as to what are all the ingredients in this Covid vaccine that they are all trying to eagerly inject into their bodies. I heard that some of the junk in the vaccine may do more harm than good to their bodies. And I also heard that some people that took the vaccine had very serious reactions and complications some taken the vaccine and some have even died from the vaccine. Transparency is what we need here and not just more brainwashing of trying to get us to all take this Covid vaccine and that it is supposed to be safe. I will not be taken any vaccine. Just call me a radical anti-vaxxer rebel. Works for me.

You should get some help with those voices you are hearing. Do you actually research them or just swallow everything you want to believe?

Because I try to read essential news and there's been nothing on this subject in my city and the province since vaccination began some time back. And I would much prefer to have a complete clarity on the matter, with the capacity to see it myself before any such program started (and that is already not the case).

Brand new virus. Why did people expect 100% knowledge on day one? Some scepticism of political motives is not unhealthy, rejecting science is.
