Although government officials have the right to order houses of worship to temporarily close their doors, they should be careful how they wield this power, Rabbi Moline said.

And they did, just like they did to sports teams.

Is that your only example. Even the pope participates in social distancing.

There are many others for Christians and non-Christians alike (marriages, baptisms, funerals, etc.).

I went to a funeral recently. Accommodations have to be made.

Marriages are also happening. Just not extraordinarily expensive ones with 400 people.

Do dead people have to wear masks too ?

Now you're being silly. All wore masks. Seats were separated and there was a capacity in the room.

Tell that to the protesters....are they just being silly ?

The point of all this are the obvious inconsistencies, for sports and non-sports activities alike.

It seems that many protestors do wear mask.

Athletes are regularly tested and they aren't playing in front of crowds. It should work fine.

Sure....just ask the Florida Marlins !

...just as long as you are getting "sports" on TV...that's all that matters.

How long were the churches closed, and how long were sports canceled?

It really does, I missed it dearly.

Just to be clear. Canada's decision to not let the Jays go back and forth to play games in the US is supported by you.

I'm not sure what we're debating anymore.

That's kinda cute....you really missed it.   Older people have lived through many sports strikes, lockouts, replacement players, hurricanes, etc. and survived just fine.

The Blue Jays as vagabonds are just one more comical chapter in the story.

Big Corporations would like sports to continue. Because capitalism. Give the people what they want.

But you think the Canadian government did the right thing. Can't have the infected Marlins coming up here can we?

Which Canadian government(s)...even they couldn't be consistent.

Which made the Toronto Blue Jays "vagabonds" at the last minute.   Well done !

Which you'd support. Sports aren't important right?

Better to keep all those COVID infected players south of the border.

Sports are not "essential".

You still want your sports fix from south of the border....as always.

The fake hockey playoffs should be in Canada...where they matter more.

Lol when your country wins a tournament its literally called "a miracle on ice", which Canada had already accomplished 8 years earlier.  :P
