1) Your original "goat herders" comment on this board, referring to immigrants coming to Canada was made before the Syrian refugee crisis

So? They're far from the only group of illiterate third world people who have come here in large numbers. Think Somalia as one example, or Afghanistan.

2) Refugees coming to Canada are just a drop in the bucket as compared to the number of immigrants coming to Canada

They're coming at a rate of 50,000 per year now as a part of about 300,000 immigrants. Refugees who are accepted (most are) become landed immigrants and part of the immigration stream. Refugees who are rejected move a couple of blocks away and stay here anyway.

) Your use of "goat herders" was meant as a derogatory term towards middle-easterners and Muslims who you have a problem with coming to Canada. Whether as a skilled worker or as a refugee.

It wasn't specifically about Muslims and middle-easterners, although they're good examples as they are the least economically successful immigrants from any source area. And although I haven't seen any studies on it I would wager they're also the least successful at integrating. No sane immigration system would be bringing them here in such numbers.

Trudeau gave a speech at the non-partisan Montreal Council on Foreign Relations the other day. But much of it wasn't so much on foreign relations as on the deadly danger Canada faces from the evil forces of the far right headed by... Andrew Scheer. Yes, the dull and smiling man who barely sets a toe to the right of centre, is, according to Trudeau, virtually the blood kin of all the populists and far-righters in Canada, and threatens to destroy our nation! Everyone knows that Conservative = populist = extremist = white supremacist!

Trudeau lauded himself and Canada's influence in the world now that 'Canada's back!!'. He couldn't actually come up with anywhere we actually HAVE influence, though. Given the laughable disaster which his smug, earnest, sanctimonious foreign policy missions have become Canada has basically zero influence on the big three (Russia, China, US) and less than zero with the likes of India and Saudi Arabia. Since India is probably the most influential developing country and the Saudis the most influential Muslim country that doesn't leave many places willing to take Trudeau's phone calls and listen to him lecture them. Maybe the Philippines would like a state visit?

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered a foreign policy speech in Montreal today that had a noticeable domestic flavour, railing against the Conservatives and accusing them of flirting with "the forces of populism."

"The Conservatives envision a world where Canada hectors from the sidelines — where we refuse to participate, but still expect a platform from which to shout," Trudeau told a gathering of the Montreal Council on Foreign Relations earlier today.

"They envision a world where Canada flirts with the forces of populism, whipping up fear and spreading misinformation."

You are a bigot based on your obvious dislike and intolerance towards certain ethnic groups.

You are wrong.

Here is a comparison between 2nd generation (children of people who migrated to Canada) from West Asian/Arab countries, compared to 2nd generation whites:

It's called 'judgement'. I look at all the world and which countries have the people with the right mix of skills and culture to succeed here, and want only the best. You look around and just want the ones with brown skin, regardless of skills. You're the bigot.

No, I'm not.

Although wages increase with the number of years in the country, there are differences in the economic outcomes of immigrants of the same cohort. The wages of immigrants vary by a number of characteristics, such as age, sex and region of birth.

For the 2005 cohort, the median wages in 2015 were $50,000 for male immigrant tax filers born in Europe and $51,000 for those born in the United States, compared to $30,000 for those born in East Asia.

People from the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Australia, the Philippines, Croatia, Portugal, Serbia and India did as well or better than native-born Canadians, the study said.

At the other end of the spectrum, almost one-fifth of those from China, Haiti, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Turkey, Colombia, Iran, Morocco, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Algeria, South Korea, Iraq and Taiwan lived below the low income cut-off ($18,759 for a single person in Toronto).

No. You are wrong. It's not about opinions. It's about the facts on the ground.

Who cares about the first generation immigrants. It's about long term adapting and performance. Sure, Europeans may adapt better when they first immigrate to Canada, but the children of non-White immigrants, including those Arabs you really hate, end up outperforming in education and skill level when you compare them to second generation Whites in Canada, by a wide margin. This information is more telling and much more important. This is reflected when you look at the performance of third generation children as well. So Canada, if you want to look at it economically, will benefit more if they bring in non-whites into Canada.

You need to face the simple reality that the immigrants who you hate and look down upon, including the Arabs, end up outperforming the whites who you feel are superior to them.
