kactus Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 I mean in all honesty we know where the source of ISIS comes from. I cannot fathom why the british government is supporting such barbaric regime in Saudi Arabia? It is kniw that SA is the source of terror for arming sunni ISIS pals killing innocent civillians. A regime with a track record where women are treated so poorly, a regime that has not taken a single refugee since the crisis and yet we suck up to the house of Sauds! Could it be that Boris is speaking his mind and he should have been abit more robust in questioning the motivation behind suporting such a brutal regime? As the newly appointed foreign minister he is set to travel to Saudi Arabia next week. His visit ironically is set to improve relationship with the house of sauds and signing potentially lucrative deals, which comes in handy post Brexit... Bottom line is such measures shiws the hypocrisy of UK government supporting this barbaric regime and ultimately arm ISIS to prolong the war and mass killings in the Middle East. It is the mess that we in the West not only ignore but inflame by these kinds of interventions.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-38248316 Quote
Guest Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 Boris just told the truth. If the British foreign office was okay with the truth it would be the only one on the planet to be that way. Quote
Moonlight Graham Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 We suck up to the Saudis because they have the highest oil production in the world. They have 7x the oil reserves as the US. They have 1/5 of the world's total proven oil reserves. It's a desert floating on lakes of oil. They also are an OPEC leader. So they have a lot of power. If they wanted to place an oil embargo on us, or raise/lower the price of crude, or kick out our corporations we have working there, it would greatly damage western economies. With that oil revenue, the West also sells them a ton of military arms, so they're a valuable business partner. They've also been an ally for us in order to check the power of Iran and Saddam's Iraq in the region. That's how I feel about this.... There's so much in the news about insurgents killing ordinary civillians but no mention of who these surgents are....I am not surprised if the british government is deliberately engaging in proxy wars to counter Iran and Russia.... He probably should have expected it. That's what governments do. I agree that it's a shame no-one has the balls to stand up to the Kingdom. Tossers. Quote
kactus Posted December 10, 2016 Author Report Posted December 10, 2016 UK government has given approval for Saudi Arabia to sit on the UN assembly fir peace....How hypocritical is that! Next time people here or elsewhere moan about poor human rights records in other countries just bear in mind the hypocrisy of western governments.... Quote
