betsy Posted November 18, 2016 Report Posted November 18, 2016 (edited) I'm still playing with my PS2 (since Ive got a good collection of PS1 and 2 games).....right now, doing PS1 Nobunaga's Ambition. I skipped the PS3. But now, PS4 VR is a real next gen gaming experience. But still unsure yet since it's new. There may be a lot of glitches, and looking at the titles, doesn't seem to have many games yet to choose from. I'm thinking of the time when the novelty of virtual reality experience dies out....and it's down to real gaming. Then, there's also the price. From what I understand, you could be shelling out a thousand bucks? Who's getting it? Anyone who knows more about it, please share. Edited November 18, 2016 by betsy Quote
Boges Posted November 18, 2016 Report Posted November 18, 2016 I actually used this thing at my buddies. I'm surprised how cool it is, you really feel like your in an immersive 3D environment. Then again I thought the Wii was cool when I first tried, but the the quality of the games didn't keep people's attention beyond the initial fad. It seemed more like a tech demo with me. I don't really see how using VR in FPS type games would be as seemless as using a normal controller. Quote
Moonlight Graham Posted November 19, 2016 Report Posted November 19, 2016 I love the potential of VR, but it's tough because it needs to come out with a killer game or 2 to really grab people and make people want to buy it. I've yet to try any of the really good VR kits. All i've ever tried was the Samsung Gear VR that uses a Galaxy S7 cellphone, it was neat but lackluster because the screen of a cellphone is just not made for it, the screen was very pixel-ish. Would like to try PS4 VR though. The whole input/controller problem for VR is a tough solve. betsy Posted November 19, 2016 Author Report Posted November 19, 2016 There is concern how it will affect the brain. Especially when you're really immersed in it, and using it for longer periods of time. Mind you, they were talking about children using it.........but still. Quote

My daughter wants it and I have been looking at the reviews with little success. Some love it some hate it. I wish I could play it but I get terrible nausea when playing first person games. Oh my, if they're mostly first person games....I won't bother with it. Quote
cybercoma Posted November 21, 2016 Report Posted November 21, 2016 I've tried it out. I really like it, but the $700 price tag for the package with the motion controllers and camera is too much of a barrier for something that doesn't really have much software to make it worthwhile right now. Quote
