I'm not sure if you followed Doonesbury in the 1980s, but Trump was a recurring character even then. I remember that sequence. Elvis came back but they had to throw him off the boat because he only sang John Denver material. Quote

bush_cheney2004 Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 Sure, Doonesbury was a mainstay in the 1980's...calendars...mugs....even screen savers. http://tr4.cbsistatic.com/hub/i/2012/02/08/be7ff993-c3a6-11e2-bc00-02911874f8c8/b3623ded831efb5651d17ae2886d9c78/Slide30.PNG Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
bush_cheney2004 Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 Trump instinctively understood these things, while Clinton hid from the press along with her secret email server. And by that I mean Trump personally, not some hired gun. As Doonesbury illustrates, he was part of the dance long ago. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
DogOnPorch Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 He still soldiers on as a reduced pace...the Trump Game was last Sunday. Piggy-piggy...lol. http://doonesbury.washingtonpost.com/strip/archive/2016/11/6 Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

Yes...I follow religiously...Bloom County, too when he wants to publish. I was a bit of a cartoonist, myself in the 1990s. Had a Canada Council of the Arts grant to produce it...my life as a starving artist. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

That, Doonesbury and Calvin and Hobbes kept me up many nights. There's always one more page. Did you publish anything? Quote

bush_cheney2004 Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 (edited) Joe Scarborough lays it all out and scolds his MSNBC team and the press in general....they ignored that which they could not ever accept as reality...a Donald Trump victory. We know where the "dumb" label now belongs. DogOnPorch Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 Yes, seen that one earlier...such epiphanies...they act like they just discovered something everybody already knew. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

DogOnPorch Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 Cenk blew a few fuses that night...telling everybody off. They were all certainly expecting the Coronation to proceed. Did you see the one where Alex Jones steps onto his set? Give it a search if you haven't. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
bush_cheney2004 Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 Yes....it was priceless. More "dummies" are depicted smashing their wide screen televisions with Trump's picture displayed. So much dumb to go around....for Clinton "supporters". Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
DogOnPorch Posted November 16, 2016 Report Posted November 16, 2016 (edited) This still wins the Big Prize, in my opinion....repeat. (worth repeating....over and over...lol) Edited November 16, 2016 by DogOnPorch Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
