Harry Truman was also a member of the Ku Klux Klan (for local political reasons), but he ended up at odds with his Klansman Democrats, not unlike Donald Trump fighting with today's GOP. However , Trump has never been a Klansman !

What is it with Americans and the KKK and black/white skin colour? Who cares? It's obvious that you can't change your skin colour.

Language and religion matter far more. People can change their religion, or learn a new language.

BC, I still reckon that Truman and Trump have alot in common. Both businessmen; both practical. Both distrusted by the MSM; both considered ignorant. Both true American patriots. Both savvy. Both were not fearful to say what they thought.

I stood in both Yalta and Potsdam, where all this was decided, and wondered how who said what. I reckon that Trump would understand Truman at Potsdam and wonder about Roosevelt at Yalta.

The Klan was about far more than just skin colour....that's why it was popular in Canada as well.

WTF? Sorry folks, thread drift ahead.

If the KKK was not about skin color, what was it about?

And Canada has/had many racial/ethnic/communal disagreements but bc, you're the first to tell me that the Klan was involved in any of them. The Masons? The Knights of Columbus? The PQ. The CPC. Louis Riel.

But the Klan? In Canada, no one knows anything about the Klan. (Uh, Nova Scotia?)
