So why no autopsy? Is that not standard practice to do an autopsy regardless?

A good question indeed. It would appear as though some people could not wait to have his body cremated.

Well, it is strange as to why Obama is not going to attend the funeral. The first time in history. Maybe Obama did have something to do with his death?

The first in history for what? I don't think so. Edited by SpankyMcFarland

Th effects of the Scalia death are beginning to show. The SC is down to 8 members. A 4 to 4 tie means that there is no decision or that the previous decision that sent the issue to the SC stands. In 2014, a lower-court ruling allowed California to compel non-union workers to pay the fees. That was appealed. The SC 4 to 4 tie left the lower court ruling intact.

Scalia was considered the most right winged judge on the court and it was guaranteed that this last decision would have goine 5 to 4 to overturn the lower court decision and weaken the union movement.

It is ironic that the Republican leadership refuses to even consider any suggested appointment to the court by Obama. I assume that they want to see if they can get a Republican into the White House and another right winger appointed. The Obama suggested appointment is more central than left. If the Democrats win the White House again they will get a left winger thrust down their throats.

Although who knows - maybe President Trump might appoint Sarah Palin. :o

But some people argue that in the case of a prominent government official, the public has a right to know.

How long will it be until the conservative deather movement demands that Scalia be exhumed to prove it's point?

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
