Big Guy Posted November 18, 2015 Report Posted November 18, 2015 "“The targets destroyed include command posts that were used to coordinate ISIL activities in the provinces of Idlib and Aleppo, munition and supply depots in the northwestern part of Syria.” Idlib and Aleppo are not ISIS strongholds. Indeed, U.S.-backed rebels hold much of both provinces. Russia has maintained all along that its roughly six-week-old intervention in Syria is aimed at defeating ISIS, but in fact many Russian air and missile strikes have hit rebel groups that oppose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and ISIS. The Russians are bombing the bejeebers out of those guys who are anti-Assad rebels and fighting on the side of the coalition. "Russian officials notified U.S. planners at a coalition headquarters in Qatar before the strike, Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said." So the Americans, when it is their turn, fly over the anti-Assad rebels and drop armaments and supplies to their allies. Then they say - OVER TO YOU - And the Russians fly in dropping bombs on those same folks. Get our Canadian planes the hell out of that bizarre confusion ASAP! -1=e^ipi Posted November 19, 2015 Report Posted November 19, 2015 This is pathetic. Putin is making the west look like idiots - and we've made it easy for him. Yep. Easy to do when pretty much every major political party in every western country consists of idiots. In a few years we might not be making such a fuss about the Paris type events either, if we don't get a grip. Already sort of starting to happen. These events are common in the west now, people are getting used to it. Quote

I don't know about 'common'. These are acts of pure hate, made by disparate groups with no logical advantage gained. If they become more frequent, I think that people will just become used to them and they will drop off at some point. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
Topaz Posted November 19, 2015 Author Report Posted November 19, 2015 For those who don't believe the website I took the link from, I did find the same story on another and it comes from the US, I think. http://www.alternet.org/world/vladimir-putin-reveals-isis-funded-40-countries-including-g20-members Quote
Michael Hardner Posted November 19, 2015 Report Posted November 19, 2015 It raises the question about how we discuss the relationship between oil prices and conflict in that area. Oil prices continue to drop as oil comes out of ISIS controlled territory. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner

eyeball Posted November 23, 2015 Report Posted November 23, 2015 I agree with the public apathy notion. But because it happens over and over again, that should get us more involved to help those we 'helped'. We collectively screwed up and we still blame them for the overall problem. Seems really stupid to me.You're no senator's son. You're good. This is not on you. We know full well who's responsible for our actions over there. The most we can be held responsible for is not doing enough to stop our radicals and extremists. But what would people do, kill them? There's just too many. I'd like to donate my time and money to Anonymous. It would be nice if that was tax deductible so I could claw back anything that might get wasted on bombs.
