It's quite obvious the Mufti was a Nazi and had a significant role in the Holocaust. To deny this is rabid antisemitism at its core. We must fight against antisemitism where ever we find it. Canada you know I respect your religious beliefs. I say this for the sake of some on this forum not you. As Jews we do not define the term "chosen" to mean we are better. The word "chosen" refers only to a covenant or promise we were said to have made with God that if we remembered him through a collective (nation of peoples) he would remember us as a nation of peoples. It was a concept created at a time when we were threatened with extinction and needed to be unified and God and our collective promise to God was seen as the glue to keep us together.

Our battle is against extremists who take the name of God to justify terror and blood. People do not understand your comments. They ridicule conventional Christians for your take on the Bible. I do not. I was taught as a Zionist the special connection you have to the Middle East and how it is to be respected just as you respect me.

I learned that the same evil that took over Christianity and led many to justify hating and killing Jews is the same religion that gave others the power to hide and save Jews, confront their Church's involvement with Nazis, or like Jehva's Winesses or 7th Day Adventists die in concentration camps rather than give up their basic beliefs.

I know the Christian sites in the ME. Been to many. I see how certain Christians have an intense connection to them as Muslims do to their sites. I was taught to respect both.

Hope that makes sense because this thread was used to piss on Netanyahu and try fan hatred. The holocaust should not be used to do that intentionally or unintentionally by anyone.

Its frustrating for me because you see how easy unclear words bring out the vulture bigots waiting to pounce on the words to justify their hatred of Jews or Israel or anyone else for that matter.

Partly, antisemitism delves back into the dark Medieval corners of the human condition. Jews = Christ killers...Jews cursed by Allah...etc. Usury Laws, in particular...loans with interest...Jewish banking. That gave rise to the whole Jews control the banks and media meme.

But, as I'm sure you're aware, it's much more than that in today's world.

As for the Mufti's role during WW2...it happened. He should have been tried/hanged as planned post WW2 for his role in the Final Solution, but he managed to escape and cause more trouble...trouble we're living with to this day.
