"If a parties message is that important they will be able to raise money."

No, because monied interests usually come from raping the environment or exploiting workers, so environmental parties and employees will be at a natural disadvantage.

The Greens aren't a fringe party. As has already been shown about 80% of Canadians support their presence in the debates. You are the anti-democratic fringe 11% who don't want them there.

I'm a great believer of bombing ISIL into oblivion, but it would be helpful for people to realize that the Western Powers are largely responsible for the Middle East we see today. The map was drawn by the Great Powers, they often picked the winners and losers, or at least thought they did.

The borders of all countries in the world were determined by 'great powers' making decisions after wars ended. The ME is not unique. The Canada-US border is no different. The peace we have today is largely because the 'great powers' understand the arbitrary nature of the current borders but accept them anyways because it is simply not worth starting a war to change them.

What is missing in the ME is the local cultural ability to re-negotiate borders without war (e.g. czechoslovakia). That is not the great powers fault.

I agree with the OP. Unfortunately the hate for Harper is so out of control, that the opposition has driven the campaign into the gutter. It's been pretty disgusting to watch.

If the Greens are a main party where are the seats? Where are the votes? What is your criteria?

Money equals voted. A party that can't raise money is a dead party.

....Assimilation is not a Canadian value - look south. We have multi-culturalism up here.

Yes...."south" is where the Canadians go when they get tired of the silly political concoction called "Multiculturalism".

I think they should.

Unlimited economic growth has the marvelous quality of stilling discontent while preserving privilege, a fact that has not gone unnoticed among liberal economists.

Even some of those who don't go still want to vote in "southerly" elections over their own. Now that is sad !

Almost as sad as someone from "down south" who gets his kicks hanging around an American discussion forum looking for mentions of the USA.

Agreed...it is mostly an American discussion forum. Should we add boring to saddest for Canada ?

There is even an American leading the Green Party for this election, and a previous Liberal leader crawled back to the USA...where he came from.

No they aren't speech. They are electronic data.

"The Ottomans were already starting to disintegrate in the late 18th century."

They could have lived a lot longer if they hadn't come into conflict with Britain and France.

No they wouldn't. In 1853 Britain and France actually went to war in Crimea to prop up the Ottomans against Russian expansion.

They started messing around with the ex Ottoman empire after WWI, when the Ottomans had declared war on the Allies, not the other way around.

Harper demonizing himself with his actions. All thinking people need is to apply is thought to realize it.

All he had to do in your case is fly a conservative flag. The left wing is so brainwashed.

The Greens currently have 2 MPs in the house of commons the same number as the Progressive Conservative Party in 1993 antecessors to the current conservative party.

So because the PCs dipped to 2 seats once in its vast history that means any party that gets 2 seats should be treated equally?
