Does the CPC's new attack ad violate C-51?

We already import most of our food....... So you want to take up the little land we have to grow, to produce fuels, so that we have to polute even more to import even more food...... gawd!!!! Where do these people come from?!?!?

Canada is not Brazil. 99% of our land is not agricultural.

Excuses excuses.. Instead of being a negative nelly and saying we can't, let's find a way to do it.

If the idea is just to raise awareness of what is happening in that region then why not also run pictures and video of the carnage of innocent "collateral damage", the costs of our involvement and the Iran fighters who are now our allies on the ground. Run that with those ISIS pics and then maybe a clear picture and choice would be presented. It would be a clearer delineation of the difference in policies

No its actually about 93% and we actually export more food than we import.

93% of our land is agricultural............ Wow, Where do you guys come up with this? Blows my mind right out of the water.

More then half the freaking country is hardly inhabitable, a frozen waste land, the other half is frozen half the time, but 93% of our land is agricultural, and you think we can compete with Brazil.... Holy smoke buddy. I'm speechless right now.

Well you stepped into it again if you think Brazil is 99% arable.

Well you stepped into it again if you think Brazil is 99% arable.

Yes because Brazil is no where close to being the most fertile place on earth to grow something. Your right , what was I thinking.

It has around 33% of its land arable, just to help you with the numbers.

Thanks, that's 400% more growing space then in Canada with direct sunshine with no period of cold weather...... So I estimate they have around 1200% more agricultural capacities then canada. And I think that's being modest.

So why don't we do like Brazil??? Please On Guard explain why we should be able to do what Brazil is doing......

The answer is, we can't. Why? Because we are Canada, not Brazil.

It's like saying, hey why don't we build a Canadian Disney world on the North Pole. The idea is completely idiotic.

Unfortunately a good portion of our population has no grasp on reality. And the NDP is trying to take full advantage of that, obviously, from what this thread is indicating It's working for some of you.

I see Harper laughing during question period. I think it's hilarious too.

I'll raise the minimum wage for you. You'll take home a bit more. ;)

Again, spoken like a true socialist. When you own your company there is no such thing as minimum wage. Turning the organic plants into ethanol in a, efficient enough way to make money from it could take me thousands of hours before I even make 1$.

Raising the minimum wage will actually hinder me from hiring anyone to help me achieve my goal.

The easiest way is through feed. America does it, we just don't

You get biofuel when you grow cereals for cattle feed, in fact it's created in the process used to convert the cereals into cattle feed. Corn and wheat are the usual suspects in the USA. We used to have a program for subsidizing in place, of course Harper cancelled that program.

Of course this is what mr. joe oliver had to say;

“The government will not redesign or reopen the ecoEnergy for biofuels programs to new applicants,” Mr. Oliver said. “During this time of fiscal restraint and challenging global fiscal realities, our government has committed to ensuring that we balance our budget.”

So of course balancing the budget

Here's one upset investor..

"Our members are ready to build new plants today,” said Scott Thurlow, president of the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association. “They have shovel-ready projects which if the programs was reopened, they could absolutely make good on the previous Prime Minister’s commitment to have 600 million litres of domestic biodiesel production in place.”

It can be done, don't kid yourself. It's just Harper and his oil buddies don't want it to be done. Hopefully once he gets ousted in October and we get a socialist in place, like Muclair, he may turn the tide on Harper's anti-biofuel policies.

Yea I know, one of my Uncle has been pretending to make ethanol for 12 years living off of government grants until Harper cut him off.

He would surely thank you for voting NDP or Liberal, because last time I saw him he sure missed that Mercedes he had.

Maybe we ought to import some US talent and get Kinky Friedman to run in October. If he wins he will bring in Willy Nelson as environment minister and he is very pro bio fuel. That plus perhaps every once in a while instead of question period being a typical goatf*&k, we could have a jam session and actually get some money's worth out of it.

It will be great, they can all light up a dubby in the middle of parliament and smoke up as they hang out with Trudeau.
