Shady Posted May 17, 2015 Report Posted May 17, 2015 Is it Polynewbie? Perhaps Gov. Abbott could send the Texas State Guard to monitor the situation. -k Unfortunately immigration law is forbidden for states to enforce, only the Feds. Quote
Derek 2.0 Posted May 17, 2015 Report Posted May 17, 2015 Unfortunately immigration law is forbidden for states to enforce, only the Feds. Exactly, and when then Governor Perry proposed doing exactly that, mysteriously, the Pentagon culled resources to various Guard units across Texas... Quote

GostHacked Posted May 18, 2015 Report Posted May 18, 2015 Only insane people believe that Obama is going to attack Texas, Topaz. -k Through various means, Obama attacked the entire nation. Obamacare, executive orders, going after whistle-blowers. Bank bailouts ect ect ect. And has put the nation at risk from abroad via the drone strikes in the M.E., parts of Asia and Africa. Quote

How is any of that attacking America more than, say, Bush's kowtowing to Wall street, which led to a massive recession? sharkman Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 (edited) Exactly, and when then Governor Perry proposed doing exactly that, mysteriously, the Pentagon culled resources to various Guard units across Texas...This is the kind of dirty underhanded **** that Obama does. No one calls him on it and the media long ago became hs lap dog. Obama really has a blank cheque to do whatever he wants. Argus Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 (edited) This is the kind of dirty underhanded **** that Obama does. Hasn't the pentagon cut resources to guard units all across the US in the wake of the military budget cutbacks mandated by the Republican congress? sharkman Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 I'm speaking specifically to what Derek mentioned about Texas Guard units, on top of cuts done across the US. Data like this is hard to find on the net since the media doesn't cover it much. I can't find much on it either way. Quote

Yes and no, many of the cuts and proposed cuts have been to Air National Guard units.......With the army Guard units being typically ring-fenced, or at worse not receiving promised regular force hand-me-downs........outside of the Texas Guard, I can't think of any of the Guard units that has seen resources taken away, resources that not only aide in response to a disaster, but could/can be used to patrol the Southern Border. It is a political statement, as Guard units are cheaper to run in peacetime and in many cases, they are near peers to their regular force counterparts Quote

GostHacked Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 (edited) How is any of that attacking America more than, say, Bush's kowtowing to Wall street, which led to a massive recession? It's not. And that is what most of you need to understand. Clinton was part of it too. Consistent march to a militarized police, helping the banks when they rip off people by not pressing charges (aside from a select few not in their group) and repealing laws that would have prevented the financial crisis (or would have decreased the severity of said crisis), security bills/laws that erode privacy and put us at risk of tyrannical actions from the government. Creating fake reasons to attack nations in the Middle East, supporting freedom fighters, but then call them terrorists once they have outlived their purpose. All of this is an attack on us the people. Using our tax dollars to pursue goals that are not in the best interests of the nation. It's not a hard concept to understand if you can rise out of the compartmentalized way of thinking. Edited June 9, 2015 by GostHacked Quote
