ReeferMadness Posted December 22, 2014 Report Posted December 22, 2014 The Federal election will be held on the date scheduled? Martin's really going out on a limb, isn't he? Quote Unlimited economic growth has the marvelous quality of stilling discontent while preserving privilege, a fact that has not gone unnoticed among liberal economists. - Noam Chomsky It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it. - Upton Sinclair
Michael Hardner Posted December 22, 2014 Report Posted December 22, 2014 The Federal election will be held on the date scheduled? Martin's really going out on a limb, isn't he? "The federal election will be held as scheduled on Oct. 19, 2015." I guess he's predicting that there won't be a coup d'etat by Harper ? That's probably only 50/50. GostHacked Posted December 22, 2014 Report Posted December 22, 2014 I prefer Gerald's crystal ball. http://trendsresearch.com/trends-journal/ Top trend for 2015. Bankism. But Harper has kept his masters happy if Martin has predicted that Harper will retire. Cushy job over at the corrupt IMF. Quote

I'm not sure that foreign affair will be his downfall though, especially considering Harper's dismal record on that topic... Quote
The_Squid Posted December 23, 2014 Report Posted December 23, 2014 If that happens, Stephen Harper will announce his retirement as Conservative leader in late December. He will become managing director of the International Monetary Fund in 2016.Read more: http://www.ctvnews.ca/ctv-news-channel/power-play-with-don-martin/don-martin-s-10-political-predictions-for-2015-1.2156222#ixzz3MkUFwZnh There is no bloody way the IMF would hire Harper.... he has zero experience as an economist and inherited all the fiscal policies from the previous government that helped avoid a financial disaster for Canada.... thanks to Harper's fiscal mismanagement that cost Canada billions in revenues that should have still been there as well. Smallc Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 There is no bloody way the IMF would hire Harper.... he has zero experience as an economist You're partisanship is showing. He's a trained economist and currently runs one of the world's largest economies, one that has done far better than most since he took power (and yes, before too). Quote
Smallc Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 Like I said in another thread, only a Trudeau screw up will lose him the election. He's already fallen below the Conservatives in some polls. That isn't a good sign for him. Quote
Smallc Posted December 29, 2014 Report Posted December 29, 2014 It’s highly likely Julian Fantino will announce he will not seek re-election before the House returns. He will immediately be replaced in the Veterans Affairs portfolio by parliamentary secretary Erin O’Toole. Probably and possibly Less certain, but definitely noise being heard on the Hill, is that Peter MacKay will not seek re-election and be granted a more father-friendly ambassador position. This would also allow him to escape the big red Liberal wave expected to hit Atlantic shores in the fall. Also quite possible All 16 vacant Senate seats will be filled by Prime Minister Stephen Harper this winter ahead of the Mike Duffy trial, mostly by Conservative hacks and retiring MPs. Unlikely U.S. ambassador Gary Doer will be named Governor General next summer. Impossible - he's not a francophone (that is tradition) and he can't even speak french. The federal election will be held as scheduled on Oct. 19, 2015. Anymore inside scoops, Don? The threat of a coalition Liberal or NDP government will be the dominant fixation of Conservatives in attack ads throughout the year in an alarm-clanging push for another majority mandate. Yes, apparently he does have another inside line... A Conservative minority government will be elected following a shaky foreign affairs policy performance by Justin Trudeau in the leaders’ debates, which cost him the lead in the polls. Most likely Finance Minister Joe Oliver will lose his Toronto seat along with all Conservative MPs in Quebec except for Maxime Bernier. It's unlikely that the Conservatives will lose every seat in Quebec. They will probably keep 2 - 3 The Harper government will be toppled after losing a Throne Speech confidence vote in late November. A deal to support a Liberal government for two years will be inked by the NDP in exchange for enacting a national daycare program. Very unlikely, but possible If that happens, Stephen Harper will announce his retirement as Conservative leader in late December. He will become managing director of the International Monetary Fund in 2016. Who knows? Probably not. On Guard for Thee Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 I certainly hope harper keeps his promise to stick to the sked on the election. ( He's been "very clear" about this as we all know so don't expect much) I want to see him squirm when duffy gets sworn under oath. Quote
