Canadian political dialogue. Specifically, did the Bloc run candidates outside of Quebec? Were they going to sit in the "coalition" Cabinet when the Liberals, NDP and Bloc designed their end-around the 2008 election?

I think he means that because these francophones do not participate in English Canadian political dialogue that means that Francophones, by virtue of not speaking English, cannot possibly partake in political dialogue.

.... notwithstanding your moronic house/insurance reference that you're taking "another approach" to, what does your stated "women have a less valuable asset" even mean?

Let me make my points more clear:

Generally Accepted Fact A: Women earn less than men.

Generally Accepted Fact B: Women live longer than men.

My OP made reference to Fact B in questioning CPP rates. Many posters then noted Fact A to argue that CPP rates should be equal.

My reference to house value/care was in deference to these posters, and their Fact A. Women have a less valuable asset (they earn less) but they care more for it (they live longer).

Example: If you live beside a monster home, no doubt your neighbour pays higher home insurance premiums than you. But if your neighbour takes less care of his home (no alarm etc), his premiums may be equal to yours.

In fact, the CPP/RRQ only covers earnings up to about $45,000 (at present) and the way it is calculated means that the distinction between women earning less than men (Fact A) is largely irrelevant. (The claim of women earning less than men is largely at the high end - above $50,000 or so.)

I digress.

But these other posters (eg Cybercoma) raise a good question: is it fair that women live longer when men earn more?

In the grander scheme of things, which would you prefer: more money or a longer life?

The aggregate numbers are out there and women earn 70% of what men do, whether you want to believe it or not. The relatively few porn stars out there don't change that fact.

Horrible analogy, and no idea what you are trying to say. But let me say this.....that abive is NOT true, in any way shape or form.

Bad neighbour....increase in bad neighbour premiums. They will always be muh much higher than the little guy with the welllooked after house.
