Article I, Section I of the U.S. Constitution reads, in relevant part, as follows:

Before he enter on the execution of his office, he (the incoming President) shall take the following oath or affirmation:--"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Article III, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution reads as follows:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

Early on, our President, B. Hussein Obama declared that the he viewed the U.S. as being exceptional the same way that, for example, Greeks viewed their country as being exceptional. His world view has been to place the U.S. as one nation among many, rather than as a country with something special to offer the world. Now, he readily concedes that he has no strategy for fighting ISIS. He apparently does not desire one either. After expressing grief that a reporter's head was hacked off, he heads straight for the golf course.

The country is at war, albeit one that it hasn't chosen, with forces that hate the West. His sole action, when two citizens' heads are cut off, is to issue weak condemnations, and threats to bring the perpetrators to "justice." As though a U.S. Federal Court is something that they fear.

Obama craves the acceptance of these retrograde elements. As such, he is "adhering to (our) enemies," and giving them "aid and comfort." In addition to rhetorical support of Hamas and neutrality towards ISIS he has taken steps that harm the U.S. in its relationship with the Arabs. He singlehandedly strangled U.S. domestic oil production in the Gulf, in defiance of Court orders. And he has gone out of his way to interfere with fracking.

As a liberal Democrat who loves his country, I consider this poor excuse for a man to be either a traitor, or almost one.

  • Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone."
  • Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds.
  • Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location?
  • The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).

Speaking of poor excuses, I thought you already conceded you were being sarcastic when you called yourself a successful lawyer/liberal democrat.

No. Both are accurate.

Everybody thinks their special.

Even when they arent.

The United States is simply a relatively successful country, for whatever reason...just like many others. It isn't actually all that special.

Would you prefer ISIS as your neighbor?

Maybe you should have listened to his closing statements at the NATO summit just concluded before the rant.

Oh sure...that's why this "Canadian web site" has a dedicated forum area for the United States just like any other successful country, and this forum hosted there. ^_^

I like how you emphasize his middle name as if there's something wrong with it.

What? You mean he does't go by B. Hussein Obama? I thought that's how he signed his name and how he introduced himself.

Nah..President Obama is certainly not a traitor or even close to being one. He tried but failed to extricate the hostages, just as President Carter failed during the Iran hostage crisis. U.S. midterm elections are just around the corner, so the Dems are just nervous about the "optics".

No but at the same time I'd be happy to have a whole host of European, or even some Caribbean or SE Asian countries as neighbours. The US is no more special.

If German was our neighbour, they'd have a forum area. You're not as special as you might like to imagine.

Wow, to be special is to have a forum area.

You're special alright.

Perhaps you need a geography lesson? We share a land border with only one country (well, 2 if you count Hans Island). But keep feeling special. Edited by Smallc

Oh C'mon...don't be dissing Mexico that way. Canadians love to travel there to escape...well...you know.

President Obama loyaly supports NAFTA, which includes our Mexican neighbours.

That sector is like the chair on the deck you reserve for the loud and drunk neighbour who likes to come over and rant about the 'coloureds' and 'creeping communism'. You wouldn't let him in the house but...

We're just being polite.

Cuba is as much a neighbour as Mexico and it's also a popular vacation destination among those of us who have the freedom to go.

You have to...you are renting the "house" on his property.

President Obama is experiencing the same political malaise and timing as any two term president.

Hmmm.... seems to me that early in the second term is when Presidents have the maximum opportunity to accomplish something, anything.

It must be hard to watch your global empire slip slip away.
