On Guard for Thee Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 I don't know. I haven't given it much thought. It could be any of the people you said, but it doesn't seem to be right. Hillary has way too much baggage and Kerry just doesn't have a strong enough presence, I think. We'll see what happens. Well the latest blurbs I hear on the news indicate that Chris knew about the lane closures on the bridge. If true then that would seem to sideline him. Who else have they got. Please don't say Ted Cruz. Quote

On Guard for Thee Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 Ted Cruz is a Canadian...he's got "birther" issues. Send him back to Calgary. Nope. He has started the procedure to relinquish his Canadian birth rite. And let's face it, he will be so much more accepted and happier there. No you keep him, he's your kind of people. Quote

I'm sure as a senator HE does pay less but the cost's are still there (read my post) but the difference is if I get sick I don't lose my house, my bank account, my car, my first born male child. As I say, keep that crazy system you have and keep Ted. BTW, here in Canada most employers pick up the monthly fess in provinces where there are any. Quote

I guess we could discuss until the cows come home what a quintessential Canadian is, but standing up in his place in the US congress and reading 23 hours of Dr. Seuss would put him a long way out of the running right off the bat. He's yours. Enjoy him. Quote

bush_cheney2004 Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) I guess we could discuss until the cows come home what a quintessential Canadian is, but standing up in his place in the US congress and reading 23 hours of Dr. Seuss would put him a long way out of the running right off the bat. He's yours. Enjoy him. We keep lots of Canadians...especially this time of the year...something about the weather being better south of the border. They stay and become mayors, and governors, and senators, but not presidents. It's in the U.S. Constitution...no Canadians as president. Probably because they would tax us to death and completely socialize our health care system. Edited February 2, 2014 by bush_cheney2004 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

With your so much shorter supply lines and enonomies of scale and a little good old Canadian let's take care of each other, your society would be much better balanced. Quote

Balance is for schmucks....Americans (and Canadians) of means don't much tolerate that wait list nonsense. I pay less than you as my employer foots most of the bill. It is untaxed compensation. We already have a health care president, and it's been a disaster so far. Bill and Hillary wanted to do that 20 years ago but failed. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

We might wait for a hip replacement, or a new knee joint. Not so much for a heart transplant. You see in our system, it's not about how much you can pay, it's about what you need most. Quote

You see in our system, it's not about how much you can pay, it's about what you need most. That's fine for you...keep it. Grandmas shouldn't have to wait so long for such basic procedures. Is that bank account balance or does it have anything to do with brains, sweat equity into the GDP, and a helping hand to those who need it? You can't pay less than me because I pay zero, because my employer pays the fee and always has done so. The horror stories of American health care are voliminous. Only a schmuck would shun balance. This thread is not about health care....a constant obsession for you. So much for balance. The current U.S. president and most candidates rejected universal single payer as a political non-starter for a majority of Americans. Enjoy it in Canada all you wish, but don't try to force it on the U.S. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
