I expect he gets some measure of voluntary debriefing from the US government, and maybe he envisions himself as a real ambassador of sorts, or even a double nought spy. The purge has moved to the Rason Special Economic zone, where Jang Song-Thaek had many connections. It is expected that many arrests/purges will follow, including Jang's alleged mistress. Quote
