They didn't threaten us they used the same words toward us that we used toward them first. STOP PLAYING THE VICTIM! It makes you look stupid.

At least I need help.

Yeah too bad Canada had to be one of only 9 countries in the world to vote for perpetual violence for both jews and arabs.

Compared to the current state of perpetual violence?

PLO warns Canada of reprisals.

Big headline in the G&M

Did you read the article?

In September, Mr. Harper made a point of meeting with Mr. Abbas at the United Nations and reportedly warned him “there will be consequences” if the77-year-old Palestinian leader proceeds with his plan. Among the consequences, officials say, is the possibility that the Palestinian mission in Ottawa be closed.

Then they come back and say

“We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it,” she replied. But if action is taken against the Palestinians, “there may be consequences,” she insisted.

So they use the same words as our own government and they are the bad guys? How dumb do you think I am? Maybe you should not be like other Conservatives and actually read something sometime because the article paints a different picture then you do.

In fact after reading the article their threats towards us were less threatening then our words used towards them. Get a grip Conservatives you are the wrong side of history on this one.

The person with the most votes wins in a Democracy. If you want to create puppet dictatorships around the world I suggest you stop supporting Democracies at home first.

You're free, in my country, to support fascist terrorists getting their own state. I'm free to point out who you're supporting.

I am for democracy all around the world. One person one vote. You want to be able to veto the people other countries vote for. That is crazy.

No need to debate with people like this. Can you believe that there are some people who question the abolishing of apartheid south african regime and system and giving equal rights to all the people? People like that cannot be reasoned with.

When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always. Gandhi

Hitler was elected. Just because you're waving democracy around doesn't mean you believe in individual freedoms and such. When's Hamas holding the next election? Surely they've set a date.

Man I never knew how bad the other side of the argument was until people in this thread started trying to justify their reasons why Canada should one of the 5% of the world's nations who voted against this in the UN. The Conservatives around here have no solutions and no real reasons why the no vote was the right one.

Hitler was elected with a whole 33% of the vote then was supported by people like you into a fascist state with no more elections. Again if Germany remained a democracy WITH ELECTIONS WW2 would have never happened. I like how it took you think long to bring out Hitler and how much it supports my point not yours. People wont vote against their interest forever but they will when they think it might stick to someone they hate.

I do realize you must attempt to marginalize his role. Supporting actual SS men and their dreams of a Jew free world are a tad unpopular in polite circles.

Yah tell that one to the Pope. If you think opinions that were had in the 40s still count today then you better be for taking the freedoms from a lot of people.

With todays UN ruling Israel needs to step up their efforts to make sure they do nothing to help these Arabs who would rather destroy them.

Canada needs to cut off all aid to Palestine and put heavy economic sanctions in place. Canada needs to treat Palestine like they treated South Africa during apartheid. These people are terrorists and need to be treated as such.

They changed the headline, and the text from the morning paper. Originally it read, "PLO warns Canada of reprisals", and the article said that a senior PLO official is warning of "consequences" for any action taken against the Palestinian Authority.

I understand reprisals to be a pretty strong word under these circumstances.

A reprisal is a limited and deliberate violation of international law to punish another sovereign state that has already broken them.[1] Reprisals in the laws of war are extremely limited, as they commonly breached the rights of civilians, an action outlawed by the Geneva Conventions. It is not to be confused with retorsions, as these constitute unfriendly acts generally permitted by international law.

Given that Canada hasn't broken any international laws by voting in the UN, I thought it was a bit extreme.

I'm not Catholic nor religious.

Well then...that puts this whole Arab-Israeli thing to bed, then. If the 1940s are not relevant....

It doesn't take long, when arguing with the left, to get compared to Nazis.

Strangely enough, it happens a lot when one supports Jews.
