GostHacked Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 Yeah too bad Canada had to be one of only 9 countries in the world to vote for perpetual violence for both jews and arabs. Compared to the current state of perpetual violence? Quote

punked Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 (edited) PLO warns Canada of reprisals. Big headline in the G&M Did you read the article? In September, Mr. Harper made a point of meeting with Mr. Abbas at the United Nations and reportedly warned him “there will be consequences” if the77-year-old Palestinian leader proceeds with his plan. Among the consequences, officials say, is the possibility that the Palestinian mission in Ottawa be closed. Then they come back and say “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it,” she replied. But if action is taken against the Palestinians, “there may be consequences,” she insisted. http://www.theglobea...article5788978/ So they use the same words as our own government and they are the bad guys? How dumb do you think I am? Maybe you should not be like other Conservatives and actually read something sometime because the article paints a different picture then you do. In fact after reading the article their threats towards us were less threatening then our words used towards them. Get a grip Conservatives you are the wrong side of history on this one. Hudson Jones Posted November 30, 2012 Author Report Posted November 30, 2012 No need to debate with people like this. People like that cannot be reasoned with. Quote When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. Man I never knew how bad the other side of the argument was until people in this thread started trying to justify their reasons why Canada should one of the 5% of the world's nations who voted against this in the UN. Merlin Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 With todays UN ruling Israel needs to step up their efforts to make sure they do nothing to help these Arabs who would rather destroy them. Canada needs to cut off all aid to Palestine and put heavy economic sanctions in place. Canada needs to treat Palestine like they treated South Africa during apartheid. These people are terrorists and need to be treated as such. Quote

In fact after reading the article their threats towards us were less threatening then our words used towards them. Get a grip Conservatives you are the wrong side of history on this one. They changed the headline, and the text from the morning paper. Originally it read, "PLO warns Canada of reprisals", and the article said that a senior PLO official is warning of "consequences" for any action taken against the Palestinian Authority. I understand reprisals to be a pretty strong word under these circumstances. A reprisal is a limited and deliberate violation of international law to punish another sovereign state that has already broken them.[1] Reprisals in the laws of war are extremely limited, as they commonly breached the rights of civilians, an action outlawed by the Geneva Conventions. It is not to be confused with retorsions, as these constitute unfriendly acts generally permitted by international law. Given that Canada hasn't broken any international laws by voting in the UN, I thought it was a bit extreme. No Maple Leaf on my backpack the next time I visit the Gaza Strip. Quote
