DogOnPorch Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 YOU posted them here. YOU contributed them to this site and tried to move a conversation forward with them. I'm glad you're starting to experience some kind of remorse for posting them, though. lol...hardly. BTW how is posting those videos any different than someone posting a looney clip from Pat Robertson trying to equate his views with those of mainstream Christianity? They're not and they are indeed on topic with this thread. But some folks don't want the fantasy of Woodstock in Egypt to end. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
cybercoma Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 You're the one referring to the children as 'wing-nutz'. Are you going to stick with your position that those children have something wrong with them. Not a true Scotsman? Are we just going to play the question game all day? Quote
DogOnPorch Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 Are we just going to play the question game all day? That's not an answer. Are these kids wingnutz? Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
cybercoma Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 BTW how is posting those videos any different than someone posting a looney clip from Pat Robertson trying to equate his views with those of mainstream Christianity? It's not because he's not mainstream Christianity. He's an example of the insane Christians in the US though. Quote
cybercoma Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 That's not an answer. Are these kids wingnutz? Am I suppose to answer with anything other than a question when that's all you've done? Quote
DogOnPorch Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 Am I suppose to answer with anything other than a question when that's all you've done? Yes...I'd be afraid to answer that one, too if I was trying to make the MB appear like the Sally Ann. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
dre Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 That's not an answer. Are these kids wingnutz? Do you think its impossible for a group that names god as their ultimate authority to participate in a pluralistic system? Quote I question things because I am human. And call no one my father who's no closer than a stranger
DogOnPorch Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 Islam simply ISN'T pluralistic by it's very own dogma. Individual Muslims most certainly can be...Jian Ghomeshi, for example...but then there's the argument that any Muslim that takes the unbeliever as a friend is no longer a true Scotsman since that goes against the very word of Allah as given to us by the Prophet. A definite no-no if pious. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
DogOnPorch Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 And, no worries...y'all ALREADY called the kids wing-nutz and extremists. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
jbg Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 Do you think its impossible for a group that names god as their ultimate authority to participate in a pluralistic system? Colonial Americans were just fine with that. Canadians were just fine with that. The Charter of Rights even refers to G-d. Much harder when the penalty for deviance from someone's perception of what G-d wants is death or humiliation. jbg Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 Actually the MB in Egypt has been pushing for democracy/pluralism for about 30 years, and that has been their platform. Now its possible that these were just empty words used with the hope of getting rid of western backed dictator, only time will tell. There's a new invention called "tyranny of the majority." This was perfected quite well during the French Revolution. Those who disagreed with majority's will went out of their heads. Guest Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 Libya's loss is the UK's gain. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-20584573 The west should provide sanctuary for any woman running from an Islamic government, no questions asked. Maybe NATO should not have backed the rebels to take Gaddafi down. Women also had full rights under Gaddafi. Quote
