Michael Hardner Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 After a brief hiatus from politics she returns, may work in favor has some separation from last couple of years of present govt.. I think she is worthy contender. You joined this forum to post this news ? Ok. Well, let's discuss - I just scanned her Wikipedia page and she seems like a garden variety Liberal politician. She's held a few portfolios on trade and on women's issues to name a few. But why should we be excited about this person ? To my mind, we're facing a crisis in public participation, a situation where large changes need to be made to attune our government to what the people need, to ensure that our poor are taken care of and are given the tools to proceed, and to not weigh down those who pay taxes in needless boondoggles. All of that requires a strong new vision Is she the person to do this ? At first glance she seems to be a lot like the others. She supported Kennedy, though, maybe there's something new in that ? cybercoma Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 Sandra Pupatello was my MPP when I lived in Ontario. She's a strong and smart politician. I think she would make a fine leader for the OLP. When she starts laying out a vision, we can examine it more intently then. Character-wise though, she's the right woman for the job. Quote
ontariosouth Posted November 8, 2012 Author Report Posted November 8, 2012 Thank you, Her cabinet experience makes her a worthy contender. I know shes is a good communicator and possibly help fix the education issue. She'll have to convince me she can stay firm on spending cuts and tax increases.Maintaining services, cut waste, easier said than done. Topaz Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 As a voter who vote for the Liberals twice, they don't have a chance even if Harper ran for the Liberals, the liberals won't get back in, because there too much wrong doing went on, but that doesn't mean that Hudak is a shoe in either. It will be interesting though to see if the area that didn't want the gas generators, support the Libs. Quote
madmax Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 I just read her press. She appears both Presumptious and arrogant. Quote
cybercoma Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 So she sounds like a politician you mean? Quote
Merlin Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 She is little known so she may have a chance at winning the Premiership. The government, not the English football one. Quote
Michael Hardner Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 She is just an open question at this point. Quote Click to learn why Climate Change is caused by HUMANS Michael Hardner
Boges Posted November 9, 2012 Report Posted November 9, 2012 All these candidates are vying to be sacrificial lambs that will have to slog it out in opposition like Dalton did. Quote

Boges Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 They didn't have a chance in 2011 either. Then they had the teacher's unions working for them. The whole power plants fiasco wasn't realized then either. Quote
jacee Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 Then they had the teacher's unions working for them. The whole power plants fiasco wasn't realized then either. And they hadn't pulled a Harper and prorogued to avoid a political and public confrontation and contempt motion. And the key Cabinet ministers avoiding the leadership race doesn't inspire confidence either. And Hudak's like a slightly sour milk pudding ... boring even before it went sour. I think it's Andrea Horvath's time. Quote
Fletch 27 Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Horvath would "flip flop" on her gender if it meant a vote. NDP don't have a chance in he'll in Ontario. Quote
