Syria is Iran's route to the Mediterranean. The two countries don't need to share a border for that to be the case. It's the same as Poland being NATO's connection to the Baltic and a buffer to Russia.

You three can't possibly be this stupid.

Iran uses Syria to fund Hezbollah. Their relationship has nothing to do with the Mediterranean. They could theoretically stage on the Mediterranean there, but it's an awfully small coastline, considering all the US allies on the Mediterranean. Moreover, Iran doesn't need Syria to get to the Mediterranean. They have coastline on the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea, which would allow them to travel through the Suez Canal via the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. It was a stupid point he was making, in a lousy attempt to exaggerate Iran's reach.

It may be a lousy point, but your original grievance with the Romney statement was that Iran and Syria don't share a border, as if that was relevant to the point being made. Now you're attacking the value of the point rather than its accuracy, which was your original stupid retort. Even worse, here I am belittling myself by actually responding to this banality.

"They don't even share a border! Hur hur hur!".

The intellectual heavyweights of MLW are all aligned: bud, dre, cybercoma, and now GostHacked. Shocking.

Why not break out the intellectually heavyweighted term 'leftists' again to describe me and those other individuals. Partisan hacks of all kind are making themselves known on MLW now.

And why are both Romney and Obama ignoring the REAL facts about Benghazi?

Yeah.. like why are those weapons crates labelled in ENGLISH?! Alex Jones and Jesse Ventura will get to the bottom of this. Probably has something to do with the Bilderbergs, NWO, and Rothschild family.

Polls say Obama won this one by more then Romney won the first one so stop being a shill.

I was watching CNN all day and the consensus was yes, Obama NARROWLY won the debate, BUT....and this is a big BUT.....Romney accomplished what he sought to do: Look presidential and show his knowledge in Foreign Policy. So the consensus was Romney was able to show that there is an alternative to Obama!

Why do you think Romney didn't push too hard? Golly.....he was practically agreeable in a lot of cases. One guy who's an expert in presidential debates (also wrote a book) was interviewed and said, Romney managed to wrest the "center" from Obama. Romney looked like he is the PEACE-guy.

CNN also said that Obama sort of became too aggressive (personal)....and that shows that they know they are in trouble! In other words, they're desperate!

CTV's own consensus last night right after the debate was that Romney won. That's their take on it. All four agreed!

CBS and Fox News polls (with samples as absurdly small as CNN's) have Romney as the winner. More importantly, Romney's polling numbers continue to trend upwards.

MOST importantly, for honest and sensible people who actually watched the debate, Romney made more sense (although he still left some things to be desired, going for "moderation"/leftism). Punked is just parroting this narrative of an inevitable Obama reelection because that's what socialists do. No honesty, no humility, just fantasy narratives and propaganda. He's still waiting for class war, I bet.

Romney's comment on Obama's Apology Tour - where-in he stopped in a lot of mid-east place but skipped Israel will really resonate, I bet!

Considering the week is calling that the biggest lie of the night I am sure it will resinate with the uniformed like you but anyone willing to read a news paper and get the facts it will be good for Obama.

Yes. I think Romney was the winner (but I could be biased) - so I felt good when CTV gave the same verdict. One of the people in that panel was Liberal strategist Reid.

It was a surprise to me when I got on CNN this morning and found out the consensus of those who were in that university last night.

From what they're saying this afternoon, it's the first time in US history to have a race this close. They say Romney's momentum hasn't stopped.

Maybe you missed it where members of the US intelligence community had slipped it out that the 'consulate' was actually a covert CIA outpost.

Forget it, betsy. It's over. "The Week" just said Romney told a "big whopper". I don't even think there's any point in voting, anymore. Thanks for information, punked.

Well I'm being very specific which part of the Apology Tour comment I'm talking about. It's the part about Obama skipping Israel in his mid-east tour! CNN brought that up in their analysis and no one said it didn't happen! Did he or did he not go to Israel when he did his mid-east tour? Answer please.

Tell me there's no Obama-Netanyahu tension.....tell me Obama didn't find it more important to sit with david Letterman than meet with an Isareli pM who's seeking to have an audience with him! There you go - just shows you what - and who - Obama's priorities are! HOLLYWOOD! biggrin.png

If you are going to call to ca it an apology Tour you better back it up other wise you are a liar aren't you? What do you care though because Romney agreed with everything Oabam said last night so let's not pretend be would do anything different accept of course make all the wrong decision and maybe call Obama up after he gets I to shit waste deep to ask for what the right call would be.

CBS has Obama winning the debate by more then 30 points so I have no idea why you are talking about. Everyone has Obama winning some by as little as 10 points others by a lot more.

I agree with Punked. CBS had a decisive win for Obama. Perhaps you could could show a link to the Fox "News" poll, as I have yet to find it.

It doesn't exist the Romney supports on the forum all have Romnesia and have taken to lying as much as him. Fun fact about Romney in the last 2 years he has accounted for about 60 percent of all pants on fire lies told as rated by politicfact, the guy is a liar and his supporters love not being held down by the truth.

Syria is Iran's route to the Mediterranean.

oh. good. i'm glad we have one of romney's inside people telling us what he really meant. when you see romney next time, could you ask him why he didn't say mediterranean instead of sea? because it looks like he thinks iran is landlocked and has no access to the sea and that their aspirations to take over the world through the seas goes through syria.

Regarding the Crowley debate, I don't know how anyone could listen to that question regarding Bush, and know that the moderator vetted the questions, and not believe Crowley was biased.

The question was something like "I believe Bush's policies were responsible for the financial crises of the past 4yrs. How do you differentiate yourself from Bush who caused this mess?"

The question basically forces Romney to align himself with Bush, who is not exactly popular among most undecided voters, or to tacitly admit that Bush, not Obama is responsible for the slow US recovery.

How can such a blatantly loaded question filter through an "unbiased" moderator?

As I've indicated elsewhere, it's pretty bad when conservative newspapers are endorsing Obama because they're sick of Romney's lies. Those that continue to support him must be lacking all capacity for critical thinking because, as kimmy alluded to in another thread, you can't possibly support Romney's position because it keeps changing. The Romney that you supported 6 months ago is entirely different than Romney today is entirely different than Massachusetts Governor Romney. The only way someone could continue to support Romney is not because they support what Romney stands for, but because they hate Obama so much that they simply don't want him as a president. And let's be honest, Obama hasn't done anything remotely close to deserving that kind of hatred. So what could it possibly be that they hate so much that they continue to support someone who has absolutely no fixed position on anything? It's worth pondering.

It doesn't matter because it isn't true. How does Iran get the stuff to Syria in the first place? The go threw Iraq or Turkey two nations that hate them? No they put it on a ship and sail it to Syria? If they already put it on a ship then the Suez Canal would be their route to the sea and Egypt would be the place to go through. Maybe Romney talking crap about Egypt all the time isn't such a good idea then is it? He doesn't even know where the places over there are on a map. That is quite clear by this statement.

romney probably couldn't find his arse without a map, not confidence inspiring when it comes to international affairs...

BTW why is Romney saying he will force the World Court to arrest Iran's president. Seems like Romney is supporting the World court now, even though they found Bush Guilty of War Crimes. Guess Romney agrees with them then eh and he will send Bush to trail?

Romney is so lost he doesn't know anything.

This is a good point that I'm surprised has gone largely ignored so far.
