So we have two provinces that people within their provinces have talked about separation, The Bloc, which no longer is from Quebec and the Alliance, which is under the Conservative name from Alberta. Who TALKS about West vs East the most? Who would benefit right now if they did? The Alliance/Tories, haven't been able to get anything on the NDP leader and so now from what that leader has said about Dutch Disease, which is 50% true, the Tories are grabbing at anything that will stick. It all politics. I've found that whatever the A/T says, it usually the opposite and they are doing what they excuse the other party of doing. Canada doesn't need this kind of talk and which ever party keeps talking about it would have more problems on their hands from the voters down the road.

It is Harper who is inflaming British Columbians against those damned easterners in Alberta by letting them threaten our salmon rivers with their filthy tar pipe.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

I dunno, maybe saying crap like he wants to build a wall around Alberta might give people that impression.

Or the finance minister that slags Ontario.

Ideology does not make good policy. Good policy comes from an analysis of options, comparison of options and selection of one option that works best in the current situation. This option is often a compromise between ideologies.

And I'm surprised that Harper's defenders--since they are self-evidently folks of high principle--have not taken Harper on for these comments, with which only mouth-breathers and moral cowards could conceivably agree.

I totally agree with all of Harpers comments made.. ESPECIALLY the comment on the enemy of Canada comment regarding that funded enviro-terrorist group. Look, Steve Harper is sooo predictable and stable and honest and his platform and demeanor is what garnered him the Majority gov! The guy is so transparent and sticks to his guns and that is why he remains the longest running PM in canadian history (in terms). You just need to take your blinders off and that Mulcair DVD out of your vehicle. How long can you listen to his translation of "mein kampf"?

How subservient of you.

Sorry. Not interested in political or celebrity worship; and they both arise from the same impulse. But political worship is obviously far more dangerous.

I'm afraid I don't believe this is a serious question.

Look, You can adore Justin Beiber all you want,,, I dont see the apeal but... And i will remain a fan of Steven Harper till he makes a mistake or decision that i dont agree with (he was close on the continued support of Israel and the atacks on Syria ( i believe its the Rebels slaughtering people for sympathy). Till then, Calling be "subservient" is only a weak attempt at a personal attack on me.

First you ask a question which you cannot mean; now you pretend you didn't understand what I was getting at.

Why all the pretence?

???

So...he was "close" to doing something with which you disagree; but ultimately you do agree, because, as you say, otherwise you wouldn't be a fan of his any longer.....

MLW member, 'Fletch', is quick to pull the 'mein kampf' trigger... it must be significant to him - the question must be serious!

Go back to reading "mein kampf". I mean really... How old are you....

Verb

Typically used on internet chat forums, to Godwin a thread or topic is to somehow make reference to Nazi Germany, or Nazis in general, which has the effect of derailing the thread and completely changing the intended subject.

It's serious in that, in recent years, and thanks at least in part to a thoroughly discredited book by Jonah Goldberg, there has been a revisionist attempt to smear the political Left as the true owners of Nazism, rather than as the largely right-wing phenomenon that it was. (And remains, with its comparatively tepid contemporary adherents.)

Today in the House there were more citizens petitions submiitted then I can recall and many were on the environment and the changes to social programs like EI and OAS. The people are voicing their dismay at this government and its buidling everyday.

When you say "the people" are you refering to the ENTIRE population of Renfrew or are we talking about the same 40 people outside Steve Harpers riding office? "The People" should rightfully refer to the Majority should it not?

That wing-nut "Rick" could submit whatever he wants as well.. A petition for Steve Harper to walk his cat on Weekend mornings for example.. Lets see how rational these few petitions are. A single petition does NOT make up for a majority..

So, I ask, How many petitions?

What was that, ten or fifteen years ago?

Mulcair seems to want to build a wall around Alberta TODAY, only to lock them and their oil in.

Or the finance minister that slags Ontario.

The Finance Minster is FROM Ontario. And anyone with more than half a brain would slag Ontario's execrable economic policies.

That seems to be exactly what he wants to do, what with his radical idea of companies cleaning up after themselves. Meanwhile, Harper concentrated even more power in the PMO when it comes to energy than even Trudeau did, but Westerners don't seem to care about that little fact that has flown thus far under the radar.

It's a well known fact that Harper ( the lowlife) has from years has fomented resentment between the eastern provinces & the west-- as a matter of fact he is even the cause of rivalry between Edmonton & Calgary and many have been known to say that the resentment between Brampton & Bramalea  is a Harperist plot to divide the left/right vote in the area, forcing everyone there to vote for the Christian Democrat Party. Fortunately, he is not persuasive enuf a person to cause a complete split & so the CDP candidate wasn't elected.

It is also known that he has been lobbying for an east west split since 1932, many years before he was born--- that's how disgusting he is.

Why don't all you Harper haters find something real to bitch about?

The man is running the country in a manner respected by a lot of heads of state and doing it thru tough times.

Pardon me for a few moments while I catch my breath thru my mouth & go scan a few pics of kiddyporn while I do the breathing thing.

There, I'm back feeling much more morally cowardly & am able to continue typing with my tongue dripping saliva on the keyboard while I try to do the impossible--- breathing thru my nose for a few moments.
