Boges Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 I think this all depends on were you live and I think that young people unemployment is up and they are having trouble finding work too. I still think its WHO you know when it comes to finding a job. I guess it depends on what kind of work they are willing to take. Here in the GTA you can get manual labour jobs and fast food jobs anytime. They don't pay lots but for young people who many not need to support themselves yet, it's something. Quote
socialist Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 these new ei rules suck. i should be able to collect ei for as long as i want. there may not be work that i want to do in my area. why should i suffer because of a capitalist goverment. thomas mulcair would never do this to ordinary canadians who arent part of the rich elite. like denmark i should be able to collect benefits for three years after working for a year. this country is so ass backwards that we wont even reconize it by time the greedy capitalists are done with it. easy to step on the small people. What does the CIA analysis prove though? All we get is a snapshot of the country right now. There is not discussion of the problems that the Danes themselves have with the country. I don't know, maybe the Danes are so happy because the unhappy once are working hard and were not available to fill out the survey and only the welfare recipients were free to fill it out. People will always bitch about something, there are always problems, things can always be better. The point is that over all Denmark is doing very well. As is Canada for that matter - doesn't stop me bitching. But to hold up Denmark as an example of a problem country doesn't make much sense. As for your last sentence, we'll just ignore that I think. What questions were asked, were they the same to everyone in all countries who are ranked? How many people took the survey? How was it decided who will participate? We can get 90% support for the conservatives if we framed questions to suit different groups, or if we downright ignored the people who do not support the Conservatives. The CIA bit wasn't about people being happy. It was a look at the facts of the Danish economy, and that economy is doing very well. They got hit by the theftcession (ie 2008) same as everybody, but they're still doing very well. Maybe Fletch lost his job there and so is unhappy, but that doesn't represent the country as a whole. He couldnt afford to pay his employees at that rate... Closed up shop and came to Canada. In Denmark, you are better of either NOT having a job or working at McDonalds (they serve beer there BTW). You will NEVER own a home there, the banks will for-ever... You are a subject of the Gov and the dumber you are or lazyer you are, the more they like it.. I looked at Iraq and found: Rampant corruption, outdated infrastructure, insufficient essential services, and antiquated commercial laws stifle investment and continue to constrain growth of private, nonoil sectors... However, Iraqi leaders remain hard pressed to translate macroeconomic gains into an improved standard of living for the Iraqi populace. Unemployment remains a problem throughout the country. Sounds nothing like Denmark. Quote
